Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) is gearing up to introduce the ACTIVA e: and QC1 models in early 2025. Bookings for these electric scooters will commence on 1 January 2025, with deliveries starting in February 2025. The production of both scooters will take place at HMSI's Narsapura plant, located near Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Honda Activa e: Vs QC1: Specifications

The ACTIVA e: boasts a dual-swappable battery system, each with a capacity of 1.5 kWh, providing a range of 102 km per charge. It is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor that delivers a peak power of 6 kW and torque of 22 Nm. The scooter can reach a top speed of 80 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h in just 7.3 seconds.

In contrast, the Honda QC1 features a fixed battery system with a capacity of 1.5 kWh, offering an 80 km range per charge. It utilises an in-wheel electric motor generating a peak power of 1.8 kW and torque of 77 Nm. The QC1 has a top speed of 50 km/h and offers two riding modes: Standard and Econ.

Features

The ACTIVA e: comes equipped with a 7.0-inch TFT display that supports Honda RoadSync Duo for seamless smartphone integration. On the other hand, the QC1 features a more straightforward setup with a 5.0-inch LCD display, USB Type-C outlet, and ample under-seat storage space measuring 26 litres.

Honda's 'Triple Action to ZERO' initiative highlights its dedication to carbon neutrality, clean energy, and resource circulation. This global concept forms the foundation for HMSI's EV strategy, aiming to promote sustainable urban mobility while reducing environmental impact.

Charging

To support its EV rollout, Honda has established Power Pack Exchanger e: stations in Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai. These stations facilitate quick battery swaps for the ACTIVA e:, minimising downtime for users. Meanwhile, the QC1's fixed battery requires conventional charging methods suitable for users with home charging facilities.

Colour Options & Warranty

The ACTIVA e: is available in 5 dynamic colours: Pearl Shallow Blue, Pearl Misty White, Pearl Serenity Blue, Matt Foggy Silver Metallic, and Pearl Igneous Black. Both scooters come with a comprehensive warranty covering three years or up to 50,000 km. Customers also receive three free services within the first year, along with complimentary roadside assistance during this period.

These models address key urban commuting challenges by offering eco-friendly alternatives to traditional scooters. While the ACTIVA e: focuses on extended range and advanced features, the QC1 targets practicality with its simplified design and fixed battery system.

Market Impact
