Hero Xoom Scooter Lineup to Expand: 125r and 160 to be Launched
Indian automobile enthusiasts are in for a treat as Hero MotoCorp, one of the leading two-wheeler manufacturers, is set to expand its Xoom scooter lineup with the launch of two new models - the sporty Xoom 125R and the maxi-scooter-esque Xoom 160.
The Xoom 110, launched just last year, marked Hero's entry into the scooter segment. The upcoming Xoom 125R and 160 made their debut at EICMA 2023 and were recently showcased in India at the Hero World event.

Xoom 160: A Unique Blend of Maxi-Scooter and ADV Styling
Starting with the Xoom 160, its design is a rare combination of maxi-scooter and ADV styling elements, ensuring it stands out from the crowd. This feature-rich machine comes equipped with keyless ignition, remote seat opening, and Hero's patented i3s stop-start technology, enhancing user convenience and experience.
The scooter's USP is its liquid-cooled, 156cc, single-cylinder engine that delivers 14hp at 8,000rpm and 13.7Nm at 6,500rpm. This makes the Xoom 160 only the second scooter in its category to boast a liquid-cooled engine.

The Xoom 160 is built with a telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers, providing a comfortable ride. Its 14-inch wheels and 141kg kerb weight make it a size larger than most scooters in its class. Upon launch, the Xoom 160 will compete with the Yamaha Aerox 155, which is priced at Rs 1.47 lakh.
Xoom 125R: A Sporty Take on the 125cc Scooter Segment
The Xoom 125R is a sporty addition to the 125cc scooter segment, with its distinct 14-inch wheels. It features an evolved design from the Xoom 110, incorporating premium touches such as sequential LED indicators (a rarity on scooters) and a fully-digital dash. The dash comes with Bluetooth connectivity, enabling turn-by-turn navigation, call, and SMS alerts for added convenience.

Powering the Xoom 125R is an air-cooled, 124.6cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 9.5hp and 10.14Nm. This scooter is set to compete with the TVS NTorq (priced between Rs 84,636 and Rs 1.05 lakh), the Suzuki Avenis (priced at Rs 92,800), and the Honda Dio 125 (priced between Rs 83,400 and Rs 91,300) in the highly competitive 125cc scooter segment. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi.
