Hero Discontinues XPulse 200T & Xtreme 200S Motorcycles In India
Hero has made a significant move by discontinuing two of its 200cc motorcycles, the XPulse 200T 4V and the Xtreme 200S 4V, simultaneously. This decision comes after both models struggled to make a strong impact on the market despite receiving multiple updates.
The XPulse 200T and Xtreme 200S, both of which were more street-oriented compared to their sibling, the XPulse 200, were unable to garner significant sales, leading to their discontinuation.

The two motorcycles, the XPulse 200T and Xtreme 200S, were priced more affordably than the more off-road-focused XPulse 200. The XPulse 200T 4V was available for Rs 1.40 lakh, while the Xtreme 200S 4V was slightly pricier at Rs 1.41 lakh. In contrast, the XPulse 200 4V's price ranged from Rs 1.52 lakh to Rs 1.65 lakh, showcasing the former two as more budget-friendly options. Despite their competitive pricing, these models did not achieve the anticipated sales success.
Engine and Design Differences
Both discontinued models shared the same engine as the XPulse 200, an air/oil-cooled 199.6cc, single-cylinder unit, but targeted a different segment of the market with their more street-centric design. The Xtreme 200S stood out as a fully-faired motorcycle offering comfortable ergonomics for daily commuting, while the XPulse 200T featured 17-inch alloy wheels, distinguishing it as a more road-biased version of the XPulse.
Future Prospects and New Launches
The discontinuation raises questions about whether Hero will reintroduce these models in the future, potentially equipped with the new 210cc engine that currently powers the Karizma XMR and the latest iteration of the XPulse. This new engine could breathe new life into the models if Hero decides to bring them back to the market.
