EICMA 2024 Motorcycle Show: Highlights & Anticipated Reveals
The EICMA show, celebrating its 110th year, is set to feature a wide array of new models and updates from top two-wheeler manufacturers. This event promises to be a significant showcase for the industry, with each manufacturer bringing something unique to the table.
Aprilia: Aprilia plans to expand its range by introducing the Tuono 457, following the RS 457's debut. This marks their entry into the sub-500cc category with manufacturing in India. Spy images suggest a Tuareg 457 rally racer prototype might also be revealed. Additionally, an updated Tuono V4 1100 model with new winglets could be showcased to comply with Euro 5+ emission standards.
BMW: BMW is anticipated to unveil the production version of the R20 concept, featuring a 2-litre horizontally-opposed engine. The R 1300 RT, equipped with radar-assisted rider aids, is expected alongside a potential M 1300 GS model. This new model promises improved performance and lighter components compared to the R 1300 GS.
Ducati: Ducati has hinted at new models using phrases like "Extended Experience" and "Unlock Everyday Adventure." These teasers suggest a possible Multistrada V4 Rally and a new Scrambler Desert Sled 2G, with official reveals scheduled for November 5.
Hero: Hero is gearing up to introduce four new products under its brand and the Vida banner. This includes the next-generation Xpulse with liquid-cooled engines and possibly a production version of the Xtunt 2.5R concept. The Xoom 125R and Xoom 160 scooters might also receive launch details, along with innovative electric concepts from Vida.
Honda: Honda id keeping its lineup under wraps, might follow up on last year's updates to models like the Fireblade, Africa Twin, and CBR600RR. There could also be developments regarding the CB1000 Hornet.
Innovative Lineups
Kawasaki: Kawasaki is expected to present the recently unveiled Ninja 1100 and Versys 1100. These additions could enhance their already innovative lineup from last year.
KTM: KTM has announced it will debut several models including the 390 Adventure R, 390 Enduro R, and 390 SMC R—all featuring a new 399cc engine. The highly anticipated 990 RC R sportbike and 990 Duke R are also expected, along with models from the 1390 range like the Super Duke GT.
Royal Enfield: Royal Enfield may introduce an electric bike potentially named Flying Flea. They are also likely to showcase the Bear 650 scrambler and Classic 650, which have been spotted in Europe.
Anticipated Reveals
Suzuki: Suzuki though remaining secretive about its plans, is expected to build on last year's introduction of the GSX-8R sportbike and GSX-S1000GX sport tourer with further reveals at this year's event.
Triumph: Triump intends to display its recently updated Speed Twin models—900 and 1200—as well as the Trident 660 and all-new Tiger Sport 800. Additional unveilings may also occur during their presentation.
Yamaha: Yamaha riding high on recent successes with models like the new R9 and updated versions of R1, R3, and MT-07, might introduce more models including Y-AMT variants of their naked bikes at this year's show.
