Ducati DesertX Rally Launched At Rs 23.7 Lakhs
Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati has launched the DesertX Rally in India. The Ducati DesertX Rally is priced at Rs 23,70,800 (ex-showroom).
Bookings for the Ducati DesertX Rally ADV are now open at the firm's dealerships across the nation and deliveries will start in the final week of May. Ducati will also be showcasing the DesertX Rally at select dealerships starting May 4th.
The Rally is the most unhinged version of the DesertX ADV to exit Ducati's stables. The DesertX Rally features quite a few upgrades that help it stand out from the 'regular' DesertX along with a bespoke livery Ducati has dubbed "Iron Giant".
As for the upgrades to the Rally compared to the regular DesertX, these include the KYB 48mm closed cartridge front fork which comes equipped with Kashima coating and offers 250mm of travel (20mm increase over the DesertX).
The rear suspension setup is also exclusive to the Rally model and features an aluminium swingarm with a different mounting point compared to the standard DesertX. Also seen at the rear is a fully adjustable KYB shock absorber with a 46mm piston and 240 mm travel.
The new DesertX Rally also rides on spoked wheels - 21 inches (front) and 18 inches (rear) that feature billet hubs, carbon steel spokes and Takasago Excel rims with inner tubes. Tyre options include Pirelli Scorpion Rally STRs (all-terrain use), Scorpion Trail IIs (road) and Scorpion Rally (off-road usage).
The Rally version of the Ducati DesertX also features an adjustable Ohlins steering damper, fixed directly to the handlebar. The overall ground clearance has also risen to 280mm (30mm more than the standard DesertX). Other exclusive highlights include the high front mudguard with split brake line and the machined adjustable brake and gear pedals.
The Ducati DesertX Rally continues to draw power from a 937cc twin-cylinder engine that pushes out 108.4bhp at 9,250 rpm and 92 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
The DesertX Rally offers six riding modes - Sport, Touring, Urban, Wet, Enduro, Rally - and also comes equipped with recalibrated versions of electronic aids like Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) for more challenging off-road usage.
The Ducatoi DesertX Rally also features a vertically oriented high-res 5" colour TFT display that comes with the Ducati Multimedia System directly integrated into it. This allows riders to connect their phones to the Rally allowing for options like music control, call management and Turn by Turn navigation.
