DION Electric Launches Two New E-Scooter Models With Chennai Showroom Inauguration

DION Electric Vehicles, a brand under Powertrans Mobility Ltd, has launched two new e-scooter models: Augusta SP and Asta FH. The company also inaugurated a new showroom in Ramapuram, Chennai. DION's portfolio now includes seven EV models, with three showrooms and five service centres.

Thiru. T. M. Anbarasan, Minister of MSME and Tamil Nadu Urban Habitation Development Board, and Thiru. Mano Thangaraj, Minister of Milk & Dairy Development, Government of Tamil Nadu, unveiled the new models and showroom. Guests included Chevalier Dr. V. G. Santhosam, Ms. Rathika Selvi Venkatesh Pannaiyar, and Mr. Prashanth Vijayamma.

New E-Scooter Models

The Augusta SP features a 7.5 KW peak PMSM hub motor that can reach speeds up to 120 kmph. It is equipped with advanced braking systems and front telescopic suspension for safety and comfort. The rear suspension is spring load hydraulic.

Asta FH also offers high performance with a rear mono spring load hydraulic setup for suspension. Both models come with anti-theft locks, front projector LEDs, and rear LEDs for enhanced visibility.

Battery and Charging

Augusta SP is powered by a 4.3 KW lithium-ion traction battery that provides a range of up to 110 kilometers per charge. Both models can be fully charged in 4-5 hours using a 1Kva charger.

The on-road price for Augusta SP is ₹1,79,750, while Asta FH is priced at ₹1,29,999. An inaugural offer gives a discount of up to Rs. 22,000/- until 23rd September.

Service Network

DION has partnered with a service provider to offer vehicle servicing at 256 stations across Tamil Nadu. This extensive network ensures customers have easy access to maintenance services.

The launch event saw participation from Powertrans Mobility's top management including CEO Mr. S. M. Antony Thomas and Managing Director Ms. A. Anusha Margaret.

Powertrans Mobility Ltd focuses on manufacturing electric vehicles and their components while planning to install charging and swapping stations across India.

The company's R&D team is dedicated to designing and manufacturing electric bikes, e-scooters, and electric loaders. The event also had the presence of financial advisor Mr CA A John Moris and legal advisor Mr P Jesus Morris Ravi.
