CEAT Nagpur Reaches 100 Millionth Tyre Production Milestone, Signifying Growth And Sustainability
CEAT, a prominent tyre manufacturer in India, has reached a significant milestone with its Nagpur plant producing its 100 millionth tyre. This achievement underscores CEAT's commitment to fulfilling the increasing demand for two-wheeler tyres both domestically and internationally.
The Nagpur facility, established in 2016, is pivotal in CEAT's two-wheeler tyre production. It manufactures high-performance tyres like Zoom X3, Gripp X5, and Energy Ride EV. This plant meets a substantial portion of India's two-wheeler tyre demand, showcasing CEAT's leadership in this growing market.

Global Reach and Export Capabilities
Beyond domestic influence, the Nagpur plant is a vital export hub. It serves markets across Africa, America, Europe, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Nepal, Indonesia, and Vietnam. This global reach highlights CEAT's strategic expansion efforts.
Vishal Pawar, Senior Vice President – Global Sales and Supply Chain at CEAT, stated that the Nagpur plant is crucial for meeting domestic needs and serves as an essential export hub. "With smart factory capabilities, AI and ML integration and by combining state-of-the-art technology with a robust supply chain network," he said. "We have established successful supply partnership with all key Indian 2W OEMs."
Innovative Initiatives at Nagpur Plant
The Nagpur plant is renowned for its unique initiatives. It has been certified by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) for sustainability efforts. The facility also boasts best-in-class quality indicators and features a plantation of 40,000 diverse trees within its boundary.
Jayasankar Kuruppal, Senior Vice President – Manufacturing at CEAT, expressed pride in reaching this milestone. "Rolling out our 100 millionth tyre from the Nagpur plant is a testament to our commitment to innovation," he remarked. He highlighted initiatives like gender diversity with about 25% women employees on the shop floor and employing Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
Sustainability and Workforce Empowerment
The Nagpur facility stands out for its Zero Liquid Discharge system, reflecting CEAT's dedication to environmental sustainability. With around 25% women associates across shop-floor functions, it reinforces CEAT's status as an equal opportunity employer in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
This year marks CEAT's 100th anniversary. The milestone of producing the 100 millionth tyre signifies ongoing efforts to expand globally while leading India's two-wheeler market through advanced technology and a committed workforce.
