BSA Gold Star 650 Launched In India At Rs 2,99,990 – The Biggest Single
The new BSA Gold Star 650 motorcycle has been finally launched in India with a starting price of just Rs 2,99,990 (ex-showroom). This new motorcycle from Classic Legends directly competes with the Royal Enfield's 650cc motorcycle lineup.
Like the Royal Enfield 650 bikes, the BSA Gold Star 650 is also a retro-themed motorcycle. Moreover, BSA seems to have done a great job in making this motorcycle look very much like a motorcycle from the 1980s.

From a distance, the new BSA Gold Star 650 could be easily mistaken for an older motorcycle, but in a good way. That being said, the BSA Gold Star 650 comes with plenty of modern bits as well.
In terms of features, the BSA Gold Star 650 comes equipped with a decent feature list which includes features such as an LCD display, dual-channel ABS, slipper clutch, USB charger, LED taillamp and much more.
However, compared to the latest from Royal Enfield, the BSA Gold Star does lack a few in-demand modern features such as all-LED lighting and mobile phone connectivity features.

Powertrain-wise, the BSA Gold Star 650 is powered by a single-cylinder engine rather than a parallel-twin engine like the 650cc motorcycles from Royal Enfield. This 652cc, DOHC unit in the Gold Star 650 puts out 45hp at 6,000rpm and 55Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm.
Also, unlike the Royal Enfield 650 Twins, the BSA Gold Star 650 motorcycle comes equipped with a 5-speed gearbox. Though this may seem like a deficiency, the Gold Star 650 is a much torquier motorcycle, and we expect this 5-speed gearbox to complement this powertrain well in urban conditions.
In terms of hardware, the BSA Gold Star 650 comes equipped with a telescopic suspension at the front and a 5-step pre-load adjustable twin shocks at the rear. Moreover, the braking duties are carried by a 320mm disc brake at the front and a 255mm disc brake at the rear.

Staying true to its retro theme, the BSA Gold Star 650 comes equipped with 18-inch wheels at the front and 17-inch wheels at the rear. These spoked wheels come wrapped in 100/90 section tyres at the front and 150/70 section tyres at the rear.
Other noticeable highlights of the new BSA Gold Star 650 motorcycle include its large 12-litre fuel tank. In addition to this, the new BSA Gold Star 650 weighs 213kg, while it may seem on the heavier side, we expect it to be manageable, thanks to its low 780mm seat height.
