Brixton Motorcycles Debuts In India: Retro With A Modern Twist
The title of being the sole Austrian two-wheeler brand in India, currently held by KTM, is set to change. Brixton Motorcycles, also from Austria, has announced its entry into the Indian market. With 25 years of experience, Brixton focuses on retro-styled motorcycles with modern features, a popular trend in India.
Brixton has partnered with KAW Veloce Motors Pvt. Ltd., part of the KAW Group, to establish a production facility in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. This strategic move shows their commitment to the Indian market.

Brixton's Indian Lineup
Brixton’s launch will feature four models: Crossfire 500X, Crossfire 500XC, Cromwell 1200, and Cromwell 1200X. The Cromwell 1200X is a Scrambler, powered by a 1,222cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine producing 82bhp at 6,250rpm and 108Nm of peak torque at 3,100rpm. It includes a 6-speed gearbox, KYB telescopic forks, and a monoshock.
The Cromwell 1200 offers a different experience. This retro roadster shares the same engine and components but focuses more on road performance. Both models cater to distinct riding preferences, ensuring a broad appeal.

The Crossfire series features a 486cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. This engine delivers 47bhp at 8,500rpm and 43Nm of peak torque at 6,750rpm. The Crossfire 500X is a cafe racer with a rugged design, while the 500XC is a Scrambler with upgraded suspension for off-road use.
Brixton will initially be available in Pune/PCMC, Mumbai, Nashik, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Cochin, Coimbatore, Ahmedabad, Surat, Vapi, and Panjim. This expansion marks a significant step for Brixton in the Indian market, offering a mix of retro and modern motorcycles.
With this expansion, Brixton aims to cater to a wider audience across major cities in India, providing enthusiasts with a range of stylish and high-quality motorcycles to choose from. The availability of Brixton bikes in key metropolitan areas like Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai will enhance the brand's visibility and accessibility, attracting more customers looking for a unique blend of classic design and contemporary performance.
By entering these prominent cities, Brixton is positioning itself as a strong contender in the Indian motorcycle market, where demand for distinctive and premium bikes is on the rise.
