Secure Your Spot: River Indie Electric Scooter Bookings Reopen
River has flung open its doors for bookings of the Indie electric scooter. Interested buyers can secure their spot in the queue with a fee of Rs 2,500. This can be done with ease either through the digital landscape or by stepping into the brand's new showroom in the heart of Bengaluru.
Generous Storage and Customizable Accessories
One of the Indie's most notable features is its ample storage capacity. It boasts a whopping 55 litres of space to tuck away your belongings, with 43 litres nestled under the seat and another 12 litres provided in the glove compartment.

For those who need even more room, the Indie doesn't disappoint—there are additional accessories like hard panniers, a top box, and a floor cage to ensure you never run out of space for your gear.
Fresh Funding and Initial Success
River has made significant headway, procuring fresh investments last year led by the Al Futtaim Group, with the backing of several other benefactors. The Indie, which made its grand debut in February 2023, has already seen its first units dispatched from the Hoskote plant as of August 2023.

The initial offering proved enticing, drawing over 200 orders within a month of opening bookings. Notably, the first delivery of Indies cruised to their new owners in Bengaluru by October 2023.
Performance and Features
The Indie isn't just about storage; it's a performance powerhouse as well. With a robust 6.7kW motor, it sprints from 0 to 40km/h in just 3.9 seconds, topping out at a brisk 90km/h. The range is equally impressive with a 120km stretch on a single charge, and riders can switch between multiple riding modes to suit their preference.

Charging is convenient with an 800-watt portable charger, and a fast-charging option is on the cards. The scooter also comes equipped with plush suspension and sturdy 14-inch wheels, making it ideal for navigating the diverse terrains of Indian roads.
At a price point of Rs 1.38 lakhs, ex-showroom in Bengaluru, the Indie is positioned competitively against peers such as the Ather 450S, TVS iQube S, and Bajaj Chetak Premium. It has seen a price increment of Rs 13,000 since its launch, reflecting its growing appeal among eco-conscious commuters.

With bookings now open, it's a prime opportunity for those in Bengaluru to make a switch to cleaner commuting while enjoying the benefits of a feature-rich ride. Whether it's the commute to work, a quick grocery run, or a leisurely cruise, the Indie is poised to be a reliable and stylish companion for the road ahead.
