BMW Motorrad Unveils Concept F 450 GS Adventure Motorcycle: All Details Here

BMW Motorrad has unveiled the Concept F 450 GS, a new addition to its motorcycle lineup. This concept bike is built on a fresh 450cc platform and features a twin-cylinder engine producing 48 bhp. The design draws inspiration from BMW's larger GS models, incorporating elements like a quad-element LED DRL and an integrated beak at the front.

Design and Features

The BMW Concept F 450 GS showcases a semi-fairing design with a tall windscreen to minimize wind resistance. It includes a large radiator for liquid cooling and USD telescopic forks in gold, though these are non-adjustable. At the rear, there's a mono-shock setup, complemented by knuckle guards and BMW's classic colour scheme on white.

The bike also features a single-piece rally seat, rear luggage rack, and an Akrapovic exhaust. A fully digital instrument cluster with advanced features is part of the package. The production model will include tail lights and turn indicators for added functionality.

Chassis and Wheels

The Concept F 450 GS is built on a tubular trellis frame with wire-spoke wheels—19-inch at the front and 17-inch at the rear. These wheels are fitted with chunky off-road tyres designed for optimal grip on rough terrains. The saddle width appears manageable, ensuring comfort for riders.

Engine and Performance

Central to this concept is its 450cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, delivering 48 bhp. The concept model weighs just 175 kg, but the production version might weigh between 180-185 kg. This bike targets A2 class riders in Europe but could compete with models like the Aprilia Tuareg 457.

BMW's collaboration with TVS Motor in India has already resulted in successful models like the G 310 R, G 310 GS ADV-Tourer, and G 310 RR supersport based on their established 310cc platform. With this new offering, BMW aims to cater to those seeking more power than what the current platform provides.

As BMW Motorrad continues to expand its portfolio, this new concept holds promise for future production. While still in its concept phase, it stands as a potential competitor in the adventure-tourer segment upon release.
