BMW Motorrad's Electric Milestone: CE 04 Scooter Launches In India
BMW Motorrad India has introduced its first electric scooter, the BMW CE 04, marking a significant step in urban mobility. This premium electric scooter will be available as a Completely Built-up Unit (CBU) in select metropolitan cities across India, with deliveries starting from September 2024.
The BMW CE 04 is priced at INR 14,90,000 ex-showroom. This price includes GST but excludes other taxes and fees such as Road Tax, RTO statutory taxes/fees, local tax/cess levies, and insurance.

BMW CE 04 Innovative Design and Technology
The design of the BMW CE 04 blends functionality with clear aesthetics and digital reality. Large surfaces contrast with sharp edges to create a modern look.
The long form houses the slim energy storage unit and compact drivetrain. The front end is dynamic while the rear showcases technological components typical of motorcycles. LED lighting enhances safety and the floating seat adds visual lightness.
Two colour options are available: Light White for the base variant and Imperial Blue Metallic for the Avantgarde style. The Avantgarde style also features bright orange accents on the seat and a tinted windshield for added contrast.
BMW CE 04 Performance and Range
The BMW CE 04's electric drive uses a liquid-cooled motor that delivers up to 42 hp (31 kW). The motor is mounted between the battery and rear wheel.
It accelerates from 0 to 50 km/hr in just 2.6 seconds and has a top speed of 120 km/hr. The lithium-ion battery has a net capacity of 8.5 kWh, providing a range of 130 kms with an energy consumption of 7.7 kWh/100 kms.
A complimentary 2.3 kW home charger is included with the scooter, which charges from 0 to 80% in 3 hours and 30 minutes. An optional BMW Wallbox charger is also available for faster charging.
Safety Features
Safety is enhanced by powerful LED lighting all around the scooter. The suspension system features a one-piece tubular steel main frame for smooth handling and ride comfort.
A double disc brake at the front ensures reliable deceleration while a single disc brake at the rear provides additional support. The BMW Motorrad Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) adds further safety measures.
The BMW CE 04 also includes Automatic Stability Control (ASC) for added stability during rides. Three riding modes—ECO, Rain, and Road—allow riders to adapt to different conditions easily.
Comfort and Customization
The multifunctional instrument cluster features a 10.25-inch TFT colour split screen with Bluetooth connectivity. A watertight storage compartment keeps smartphones safe while charging via a 12-volt port.
Optional packages enhance comfort and functionality: the 'Comfort Package’ includes Heated Grips and Backrest Comfort Seat; the 'Dynamic Package’ offers Riding Modes Pro, Headlight Pro, ABS Pro, Adaptive Headlights, and Daytime Riding Light.
A wide range of optional equipment and original BMW Motorrad accessories are available for further customization.
BMW India Financial Services provides flexible financial solutions tailored for BMW Motorrad customers. Loans can be approved before delivery for convenience. All BMW Motorrad vehicles come with a standard three-year unlimited kilometre warranty that can be extended to four or five years if desired.
