Bajaj is set to enter the competitive premium 125cc motorcycle segment, a category that has seen significant growth thanks to models like the TVS Raider and Hero Xtreme 125R. Spied recently, this new Bajaj bike is expected to bring a fresh design and sportier profile to the segment.
This new entrant from Bajaj is anticipated to share components with other bikes in the Bajaj lineup, such as the Pulsar N150, to keep development and production costs in check.
The test mule suggests a commuter motorcycle orientation, with rear drum brakes and skinny tyres indicating its practical focus. However, it distinguishes itself with a unique headlight design, chunky tank extensions, and a split seat design, suggesting a blend of comfort and style.
Key features noted include a compact windscreen, wide handlebar, underbelly exhaust, and a robust grabrail, hinting at a comfortable ride with an upright riding stance. The bike's low seat height aims to appeal to a wide range of riders, enhancing its accessibility.
The performance specs of the new Bajaj 125cc bike could mirror the Pulsar NS125, featuring a 124.45 cc, SOHC 4-valve, air-cooled engine that delivers 11.2bhp and 11 Nm. This engine setup is coupled with a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox, promising a blend of efficiency and performance suitable for the premium 125cc market.
