More Affordable Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG Bike In The Cards: All Details Here
Bajaj recently introduced the Freedom 125 motorcycle in India, marking it as the world's first CNG-powered bike. While this model is already on sale, Bajaj is reportedly testing a new, more affordable version of the Freedom CNG bike. Images of a camouflaged Freedom bike on the road have surfaced online, supporting these reports.
The current Freedom 125 CNG is priced at Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom). Bajaj aims to offer a cheaper variant, although no official statement has been made yet. It is anticipated that Bajaj will soon release more information regarding this new model.

The test bike was heavily camouflaged, limiting detailed observations. However, some key changes were noted. Unlike the current model's LED headlight, the test bike appears to feature a halogen headlight. This change likely aims to reduce costs. Additionally, other expensive features may have been replaced with more affordable alternatives without compromising quality.
Drum brakes are expected to replace disc brakes in this new variant. The bike will likely come in a single color instead of dual-tone options, another cost-saving measure. The suspension setup also seems to have been altered, with a simpler fork expected. The front mudguard design is noticeably simpler as well.

The Bajaj Freedom 125 is powered by a 125 cc single-cylinder engine that produces 9.3 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 9.7 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. This engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox. Despite cost-cutting measures, there will be no changes to the frame, CNG cylinder, or engine.
The instrument cluster on the new variant is expected to lack Bluetooth connectivity, another effort to keep costs down. These adjustments suggest that the new Freedom 125 will be available at a significantly lower price than the current model.

Market Expectations
CNG vehicles are gaining popularity in India due to their cost-effectiveness and environmental benefits. Bajaj's efforts to introduce a more affordable CNG bike align with this trend. The new Freedom 125 is expected to hit the market soon, although an exact launch date has not been disclosed.
Overall, these changes aim to make Bajaj's CNG bike more accessible to budget-conscious consumers while maintaining essential features and performance. The new variant is expected to be priced slightly lower than the base model of the Freedom CNG bike, which costs Rs. 94,995 ex-showroom.
