Bajaj Freedom 125 Launched At Rs 95,000 - World's First CNG Motorcycle
Bajaj has launched the Freedom 125, the world's first CNG-powered motorcycle at Rs 95,000. The Bajaj Freedom 125 is offered in three trim levels - Freedom 125 Drum priced at Rs 95,000, Freedom 125 Drum LED which costs Rs 1.05 lakhs and the Freedom 125 Disc LED which is priced at Rs 1.10 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom).
Bookings for the Bajaj Freedom 125 are now open and the CNG-powered motorcycle will first be made available in the states of Maharashtra and Gujarat, with other states set to follow in a phased manner.
The top-spec Freedom 125 Disc LED variant will be the first available variant made available to the general public to order. Both drum versions of the Bajaj Freedom 125 be made available in a month.
The Bajaj Freedom 125 is powered by a 125cc, single-cylinder bi-fuel engine which runs on both petrol and CNG. The Freedom 125 can move from petrol to CNG fueling and back at the flick of a switch.
The Freedom 125's engine produces a peak output of 9.37bhp at 8,000rpm and 9.7Nm at 6,000rpm and comes paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Bajaj Freedom 125 comes with a 2-litre petrol tank and a 2 kilo CNG tank both of which share a common filler cap and deliver an overall claimed range of 330km.
The Bajaj Freedom 125 features a trellis frame setup inside the confines of which sits the CNG tank. The bike features conventional front forks and a linked monoshock at the rear to take care of the rough stuff. The Freedom 125 rides on 17-inch wheels and sports a disc front brake and rear drum brake on its top-spec variant.
To make the Freedom 125 even more distinctive, Bajaj has given it a rather unique design. It features a distinctive headlight with LED lighting and DRLS. It also sports a small, almost off-road bike-esque fuel tank which is followed by the 785mm long seat (the longest in its class) and LED taillights. The Freedom 125 also sports a Reverse LCD screen with Bluetooth connectivity.
The Bajaj Freedom 125 is offered in 7 colour options - Caribbean Blue, Racing Red, Cyber White, Pewter Grey-Black, Pewter Grey-Yellow, Ebony Black-Grey, and Ebony Black-Red.
