Bajaj's First CNG Bike Promises Sustainability & Cost-Efficient Running: Likely To Be Named 'Bruzer'
Bajaj Auto Limited is set to make history by launching the world's first CNG motorcycle on June 18, 2024. This pioneering move will see the introduction of a bike that operates on compressed natural gas, marking a significant step forward in the motorcycle industry.
Named potentially as 'Bruzer’, this upcoming bike will compete in the 100-125cc segment, offering a more cost-effective and fuel-efficient alternative to traditional petrol bikes, potentially revolutionising the Indian motorcycle industry.

Recent spy shots have provided a glimpse into what to expect from the new Bajaj CNG bike. It features an upright riding position, a unified seat, hand guards, and mid-positioned foot pegs for comfort.
Safety and design have been given due importance with LED headlights, bulb indicators, a singular grab rail, leg guards, and a sleek black exhaust. A fully digital instrument cluster adds to the modern appeal of the bike.

The innovative design includes a CNG tank integrated within the double cradle frame. For added convenience, there's an auxiliary petrol tank, allowing riders to switch fuels if necessary. This dual-fuel capability is managed by a switch knob, expected to be easily accessible to the rider.
Two Variants Spotted
Spy shots have revealed two versions of the Bajaj CNG bike. One variant appears more premium with a compact windscreen and sleek mirror stems, while the other looks more rugged, mirroring the design of the Bajaj CT125X, complete with handguards and a sump guard.

This eco-friendly motorcycle is set to drastically reduce emissions, with a 50% cut in CO2, 75% in carbon monoxide, and an almost 90% reduction in non-methane hydrocarbons. Besides being environmentally friendly, the Bajaj CNG motorcycle promises to significantly lower fuel and operational costs by 55-65%.
With an expected price range of Rs 80k-90k (ex-showroom), the Bajaj CNG bike will enter the market at a competitive position. It aims to challenge other bikes in the same price range, like the Hero Splendor Plus, TVS Radeon, Honda Shine 100, and Bajaj Platina 110.

DriveSpark Thinks
This launch not only represents a significant innovation in motorcycle technology but also offers riders a more sustainable and cost-efficient alternative. With its debut set for mid-2024, the Bajaj CNG bike is poised to become a noteworthy addition to the global motorcycle market.
