Eco-Friendly Leap: Bajaj Auto's CNG Motorcycle Likely To Be Named 'Freedom' Or 'Marathon'
Bajaj Auto is setting a new milestone in India's automotive market by gearing up to launch the country’s first-ever CNG motorcycle. This innovative move is part of Bajaj's strategy to target a broad range of segments, with the upcoming motorcycle designed to cater to users from 100cc to 160cc categories.
As the anticipation builds, the exact name of this pioneering CNG motorcycle remains under wraps. However, Bajaj has recently trademarked several names, including Bajaj Marathon, Bajaj Freedom, Bajaj Glider, and Bajaj Tracker, sparking speculation that one of these could be chosen for the new model.

Name
The name 'Marathon' stands out among the newly trademarked titles, hinting at a motorcycle designed for long distances, complemented by exceptional mileage. The CNG motorcycle is expected to hold about 1.20kg of CNG in its cylinder, promising an impressive range of 120km. The capacity of the tank that Bajaj will incorporate into the motorcycle is highly anticipated.

Expanding The Portfolio
Besides the possible 'Marathon', other names like 'Glider' and 'Freedom' have been trademarked. These could be earmarked for future cruiser bikes, potentially succeeding or enhancing Bajaj's current offerings like the Avenger series. Moreover, the name 'Trekker' suggests the possibility of an adventure bike, a segment where Bajaj currently has no offerings, despite significant demand.

A Vision For Cleaner Fuel
Bajaj's initiative to introduce a CNG motorcycle aligns with its commitment to diversifying its portfolio with cleaner fuel options, including electric vehicles (EVs), ethanol, LPG, and now CNG.
Initially, the company plans to produce approximately 1 to 1.20 lakh units of the CNG motorcycle annually at its Aurangabad plant, with aspirations to increase this figure to around 2 lakh units in the future.

This pioneering step by Bajaj not only highlights the increasing shift towards more sustainable fuel options in the Indian automotive sector but also caters to the growing demand for economical and eco-friendly transportation solutions.
As the launch date approaches, the industry and consumers alike eagerly await the unveiling of the country's first CNG motorcycle, poised to make a significant impact on India's journey towards cleaner transportation.
