Bajaj Auto Launches Manufacturing Plant In Manaus, Brazil, Reaching 100 Countries
Bajaj Auto, a leading global manufacturer of 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers, has inaugurated its new manufacturing plant in Manaus, Brazil.
The event was by the Governor of Amazon state, dignitaries, dealers, and business partners. Bajaj Auto's vehicles are now sold in 100 countries, further solidifying its position as the "World Favourite Indian."

Strategic Location and Local Capabilities
The new plant is located at Av. do Turismo, nº 13.529 - Bairro Tarumã and covers an area of 9,600 square meters. It features state-of-the-art manufacturing technology and has a production capacity of 20,000 units per year on a single shift.
The strategic location in Manaus offers fiscal benefits from the State and proximity to supply chains and major transportation hubs.

Advanced Manufacturing Technology
The Manaus plant is equipped with cutting-edge engine assembly, vehicle assembly, and testing facilities. It utilizes advanced automated production lines and integrated quality control systems.
Operations are streamlined across manufacturing, supply chain management, finance, and HR using the Protheus ERP system. Initially focusing on Dominar models, the plant will later manufacture Pulsar models when they become available.

Record Time Completion
Construction for the plant began in June 2023 and was completed within a year. The initial phase focused on sourcing, assembly, and testing of Dominar models with plans to expand to additional product lines.
The facility has achieved ISO certification for its production processes and successfully integrated local suppliers for key motorcycle parts and components.

Future Expansion Plans
Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director of Bajaj Auto Ltd., said at the inauguration: "With the establishment of our own plant in Brazil we have achieved a quantum shift in our local capability to fulfil demand... This plant also signals our commitment to Brazil... We are excited to be part of Brazil's growth story and look forward to a prosperous future here."
Bajaj do Brasil plans to expand the facility further to accommodate additional production capacity up to 50,000 units per year in due course.
