Bajaj CNG Motorcycle Launch Delayed To July 17th: Here's A Quick Look At The Bike
Bajaj Auto is gearing up for the launch of its new CNG motorcycle, now delayed to July 17. Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director, confirmed the new date, emphasising the bike's appeal to cost-conscious buyers. The bike will offer seamless switching between petrol and CNG, catering to the '100-150cc commuter bike’ segment.
Key Features and Performance
The upcoming Bajaj CNG bike promises a unique design and multiple variants. Although specific power figures remain undisclosed, the bike will perform within the '100-150cc' range. It will switch seamlessly between petrol and CNG, ensuring riders won't notice the fuel change.

Design and Specifications
Spy images reveal an upright riding posture, a unified seat, and a single-piece handlebar with hand guards. The bike features LED headlights, bulb indicators, and a digital instrument cluster. The double cradle frame houses the CNG tank, with an auxiliary petrol tank for backup.
Safety and Comfort
The bike includes telescopic fork and monoshock suspension systems, drum and disc brakes with single-channel ABS, engine-side leg guards, and a sleek black exhaust. Safety features extend to a singular grab rail at the rear and mid-positioned foot pegs.

Variants and Pricing
Two distinct variants have been spotted: one with premium touches like a compact windscreen and sleek mirror stems, and another rugged version resembling the Bajaj CT125X. Both variants feature conventional alloy wheels and a streamlined exhaust design.
Environmental and Economic Benefits
The CNG bike significantly reduces emissions: 50% less CO2, 75% less carbon monoxide, and nearly 90% less non-methane hydrocarbons. It is expected to lower fuel and operational costs by 55-65%. Priced at approximately Rs 80k-90k, it will compete with Hero Splendor Plus, TVS Radeon, Honda Shine 100, and Bajaj Platina 110.
DriveSpark Thinks
Bajaj plans to sell around 20,000 units monthly. By next year, they aim to have 5-6 new CNG motorcycles on sale, expanding their eco-friendly vehicle lineup. They are focused on capturing a significant share of the market for clean energy vehicles. Bajaj's strategy aligns with the growing global demand for sustainable transportation options.
With their commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility, they are well-positioned to meet the increasing consumer interest in eco-friendly modes of transport. Their goal is not only to increase sales but also to contribute to a greener future by offering more options for environmentally-conscious consumers looking for efficient and sustainable transportation solutions.
