Ather Rizta Vs Rivals: TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Hero Vida V1 Pro, Ather 450X, Simple One, & Ola S1 Pro

Ather recently launched the Rizta, at the Ather Community Day 2024. The Rizta is set to impact the sales and create competition against electric scooter models available in the Indian Dometic Market, like the iQube, Chetak, Vida V1 Pro, S1 Pro, 450X, and the Simple One.

Ather showcased the Rizta for the first time on the 6th of April, at the Bangalore Trade Centre in Whitefield. The Rizta is Ather's first family-oriented scooter, with the 3.7kWh battery pack option offering up to 160km on one charge.

Rizta

Price

The Ather Rizta is priced at a real ex-showroom price of Rs. 1,35,000 for the base variant and Rs. 1,62,400 for the top-end model with no additional accessories. If buyers want the additional accessories announced at the launch, they will have to opt for the Pro Pack for an extra cost of Rs 13,000 to Rs 20,000.

With the Pro Pack, the price of the Rizta goes up to Rs. 1,48,000 ex-showroom and Rs 1,82,400 for the top trim level. The Ola flagship offering, the S1 Pro Gen 2 Rs. 1,82,000 ex-showroom is less than the top-spec Ather Rizta Z.

Ola S1 Pro

Even though the Rizta is not an Ather flagship model, the pricing for the Rizta makes it more expensive than the likes of TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 Pro, Hero Vida V1 Pro, and Simple One.

Motor and Performance

The Ather gets a motor that is mounted in the middle of the chassis. The motor drives the rear wheels through a belt drive system for a smoother ride. Ather has announced a top speed that is limited to 80km/h.

Hero Vida V1 Pro

Unlike the Ather Rizta, the iQube for TVS is the only EV scooter on this list that gets a Moto mounted on the rear hub that has a top speed of 78km/h. The Chetak in comparison has a top speed of 73km/h and the V1 Pro has a top speed of 80km/h like the Rizta.

For those looking for a quicker Ev Scooter, the more performance options like the Simple One, Ola S1 Pro Gen 2, and the Ather 450X offer top speeds of 105km/h, 120km/h, and 90km/h respectively.

Ather 450X

Range

Ather claims that the Rizta can achieve ranges up to 160km on a single charge. Competition like the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 claims 195km and the Simple One with 212Km, both on just one charge.

Features

The key selling point of the Ather Rizta has to be its 'Big Seat' that has been spoken about all over the internet. The Rizta has a 900mm seat and 34 litres of storage capacity.

Bajaj Chetak

In the boot section, Ather has also equipped the Rizta with a wireless charging port to charge phones, laptops and even the new Halo helmet which was launched at the Ather Community Day.

During the launch, Ather also announced a line of accessories to be attached to the new Rizta for extra storage and compartments. One of the accessories is a boot organizer which can also be used as a removable bag to carry things like groceries.

Simple One

The other accessories announced was a leather pouch (22-litre capacity) for the front of where the rider keeps their feet. This pouch can be used for carrying packed drinking water, laptops, documents and more.

Notably, the base 'S' trim of the Rizta doesn't get the 3.7kWh battery from the higher Z trim or the TFT display. Ather has also chosen to stick to a rear drum brake and tyre that are on the slimmer profile at 90/90-12.

TVS iQube

Unlike the Ather 450X which has 4 riding modes (Eco, Ride, Sport, Warp) the Rizta gets only two modes (Zip and SmartEco).

DriveSpark Thinks

Ather has built a scooter that is designed to appeal to the masses. Loaded with technology and features like the convenient seat organizer and the Ather stack, the Ather Rizta is a great option for those looking for a particular everyday scooter, that offers comfort and convenience.
