Ather Rizta Electric Scooter Teased – LED Headlights, Fully Digital Instrument Cluster & More

In a move to expand its product line, Ather Energy is set to introduce the Rizta electtric scooter in India. This upcoming model from, Ather Energy is touted as a family scooter, marking the entry of its automaker into a new segment of electric mobility.

This development places the upcoming Ather Rizta electric scooter in direct competition with prominent players in the segment such as the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 X+, as well as traditional ICE scooters like the Honda Activa and TVS Jupiter.

Ather Rizta Clears Water Wading Test

Swapnil Jain, Co-Founder of Ather Energy, recently shared a video showcasing the Rizta effortlessly navigating through a 400mm deep water trench. This demonstration not only highlighted the scooter's robust ingress protection rating (IP67) for its battery and motor but also underscored its readiness for everyday challenges.

The video hints at the Rizta's waterproof capabilities, a characteristic that aligns with the durability shown in previous tests, including a dramatic battery drop from 40 feet. These tests collectively point to Rizta's reliability and resilience, traits essential for family scooters.

Design and Features

At first glance, the Rizta bears a striking resemblance to the TVS iQube, especially in terms of its sleek LED headlight and DRL placement. Despite these visual parallels, the Rizta stands out with its design nuances, such as a sleeker rear grab rail and a differently positioned tail light.

Ather highlights the Rizta's practical features, including a flat floorboard, the segment's largest seat, and ample under-seat storage. A notable aspect of the water-wading test video was the glimpse of a large digital instrument cluster, sparking speculation about the inclusion of a 7-inch TFT colour touchscreen.

This feature-packed dashboard is expected to offer Bluetooth connectivity, navigation through Google Maps, music control, and other vital vehicle information. The anticipation for the Rizta is set to culminate at Ather's Community Day event on 6th April 2024, where the scooter will officially be unveiled.

The Rizta is rumoured to share powertrains with the Ather 450S, with the company aiming to maintain competitive pricing. This approach reflects Ather Energy's commitment to catering to diverse consumer needs by offering a blend of practicality, durability, and advanced technology in its latest family scooter.
