Ather Energy Begins Production Of New Rizta Electric Scooter
Production of the Ather Rizta electric scooter has begun at Ather Energy's manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The first batch of the newly-launched model has rolled out recently. Ather Rizta, priced from ₹1.10 lakh, was launched earlier this year and is offered in three variants and seven colour options.
Co-founder and CEO Tarun Mehta announced the commencement of production on social media platform X. Ather Energy, though founded in 2013, has quickly become a key player in the Indian electric scooter market, thanks to models like the Ather 450S, 450X, and 450 Apex.
The Ather Rizta aims to intensify competition in the segment, targeting models such as TVS iQube and Ola S1 Air, as well as conventional scooters like Honda Activa and TVS Jupiter. The Rizta's conventional design may attract traditional scooter users.
Price and Range
Launched in April, the Ather Rizta comes with a starting price of ₹1.10 lakh, potentially rising to ₹1.46 lakh (ex-showroom, introductory).
The scooter might also be eligible for subsidies in various states across India. It offers multiple battery options, with the 2.9 kWh battery providing a range of 105 kilometres per charge, and the 3.7 kWh battery offering around 125 kilometres.
Features and Specifications
The Ather Rizta is powered by a PMS electric motor and can accelerate from 0-40 kmph in 3.7 seconds. Its top speed is 80 kmph. The scooter features a TFT touch-enabled digital instrument console, turn-by-turn navigation, smartphone connectivity, and LED lighting. It also boasts a 34-litre cargo area under the seat and 12-inch alloy wheels.
