Ather Rizta To Be A Game-Changer In The Electric Scooter Segment – Expectations & Launch Details
Ather Energy cemented its reputation in India as the maker of one of the best electric scooters in the Indian automobile market with its Ather 450 range of electric scooters. However, the sharp styling and compact dimensions meant the model fell short of the requirements demanded by Indian families.
So, to cater to the requirements of Indian families, Ather Energy will soon launch the new Ather Rizta electric scooter in India. This upcoming electric scooter from Ather is a size larger than the Ather 450 range of electric scooters, making it a more ideal option for Indian families.
However, what grabbed everyone's attention the most about the Rizta electric scooter was its large seat. Given the large seat, we also expect the Ather Rizta electric scooter to sport a large underseat storage.
For perspective, the Ola S1 Air and Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 electric scooters have an underseat storage capacity of 34 litres. As such, we expect, the Ather Rizta electric scooter to sport at least 35-38 litres of underseat storage space.
That being said, the Ather Rizta electric scooter is likely to use a different frame compared to the Ather 450 range of electric scooters, given its larger size. However, we expect the Rizta electric scooters to sport the same powertrain setup as the Ather 450 electric scooters.
Also, to keep prices competitive, we expect the upcoming Ather Rizta electric scooter to be powered by the same powertrain as the more affordable Ather 450S electric scooter. This means the upcoming Ather Rizta electric scooter will come equipped with a 5.4kW (7.24bhp) electric motor with 22Nm of torque.
This powertrain in the Ather 450S enables the electric scooter to reach a top speed of 90km/h. Also, the model comes equipped with a 2.9kWh battery pack, giving it a range of 115km. Moreover, charging to 80% takes 6 hours and 36 minutes using a standard home charger.
In terms of features, we expect the Ather Rizta electric scooter to reflect the features in the Ather 450S electric. This means the Rizta will come equipped with a "DeepView Display" instead of a full-colour LCD instrument.
That being said, we also expect to see the upcoming Ather Rizta electric scooter with Ather's bigger 3.7kWh battery pack. As a result, expect a range of 150km on this variant.
Speaking about the launch, we expect the Ather Rizta electric scooter to be launched on April 6, 2024. Moreover, we expect Ather Energy to soon open bookings for the Rizta electric scooter in India.

We expect Ather Rizta to quickly gain momentum in the electric scooter segment and significantly boost the sales figures of Ather Energy. As such, the launch of the Rizta electric scooter will give tough competition to the likes of Ola S1 and TVS iQube range of electric scooters.
