Ather Halo Smart Helmet Enters Early Production: The Smarter Riding Experience
Ather Energy has announced that their smart helmet, Ather Halo, has entered early production. CEO Tarun Mehta confirmed this development and shared a video showcasing the first production samples. The video features Mehta testing the helmet on the Ather Rizta scooter, highlighting its wireless charger and Harman Kardon speakers.
The Ather Halo is designed to enhance the riding experience by integrating advanced features into helmets. The full-faced version of the Halo comes with a dedicated wireless charger and is priced at ₹12,999. This charger can be conveniently installed in the boot space of the Ather Rizta scooter.

Smart Helmet Options
For those who prefer a half-faced helmet, Ather offers a custom-designed option that is both ISI and DOT certified. This helmet can be paired with the Halo Bit module, which costs ₹4,999. The module can be easily attached to transform the half-faced helmet into a smart helmet with key features.
The Ather Halo promises nearly a week of battery life on a single charge. It includes integrated speakers aimed at providing high-quality audio for music and calls while riding. Additionally, it boasts WearDetect technology that automatically detects when the rider puts on the helmet, turning it on and connecting it to their smartphone.
Enhanced Riding Experience
Ather's "Ather ChitChat" feature allows voice communication between the rider and pillion passenger through their helmets, enhancing the shared riding experience. The helmets can also connect to the Ather scooter, allowing control through the scooter's joystick.
Swapnil Jain, Co-founder & CTO of Ather Energy, stated that they wanted to transform helmets from a mere compulsion to an integral part of a fun, engaging ride. He said, "So we built the Halo, Ather's first smart helmet which offers premium sound by Harmon Kardon and integrates our proprietary auto WearDetect technology and wireless charging."
Jain added that they ensured the experience extends to the pillion with features such as ChitChat and music sharing. This focus on functionality aims to make rides more enjoyable for both riders and passengers.
The arrival of early production samples signifies that mass production is imminent. According to Mehta's tweet: "The early production samples of Halo are here! Main batches will start rolling out in a few weeks. They look and feel fantastically premium! And hear that magnetic click!"
With these advancements, Ather Energy continues to innovate in the electric vehicle market by introducing products that enhance user experience beyond just transportation.
