Aprilia RS 457 Trofeo: Performance Racing Kit For The Track Stars
Aprilia has introduced a new racing series for the RS 457, unveiling the RS 457 Trofeo to fuel the competition. This version includes several modifications aimed at enhancing performance on the track.
Key Components of the Racing Trophy Kit
The Racing Trophy Kit includes a Racing Electronic Control Unit (ECU), SC Project Exhaust System, Sprint Racing Air Filter, JetPrime Racing Switches and Buttons, and a Plastic Bike Fairing Kit with Fiberglass Tank Cover and Tail Section. These components are designed to optimise the bike's performance for racing conditions.

The SC Project Exhaust System is tailored for the RS 457, improving power delivery and producing a robust racing sound. This exhaust system typically results in a higher power peak and a flatter torque curve, providing more usable power throughout the rev range. Additionally, it reduces weight compared to the stock exhaust.
Enhanced Airflow and Engine Management
The Sprint Filter is a high-flow racing air filter that ensures optimal airflow to the engine for maximum power output. However, it may require more frequent cleaning. The Racing ECU complements these modifications by adjusting air-fuel ratios to achieve optimal horsepower while maintaining engine safety. It offers sharper throttle response, precise power delivery, and potentially adjustable engine braking.

A plastic bike fairing kit with a fibreglass tank cover and tail section reduces weight and enhances aerodynamics on the track. These lighter fairings can significantly reduce weight (the production bike's dry weight is 159 kg), improving handling and acceleration. The aerodynamic design helps reduce drag and downforce, allowing higher speeds.
Intuitive Controls for Racers
The JetPrime Racing switches and buttons provide intuitive controls for quick adjustments during races. These controls are designed to be durable and easy to use with racing gloves. They may include features like a launch control button or a pit lane limiter.
Despite these modifications, the engine hardware remains stock. The Aprilia RS 457 Trofeo is powered by a 457cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine producing 48.9 bhp and 48 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring slip and assist clutch, with expectations of a quick-shifter on this racing series bike.
Frame and Suspension Details
The Aprilia RS 457 Trofeo features an aluminium frame with the engine as a stressed member. While no suspension changes are mentioned, it might be set up according to rider preferences on the track. The tyres could be racing slicks instead of street tyres.

On the electronics side, the RS 457 Trofeo includes ride-by-wire throttle, selectable riding modes, ABS, and adjustable traction control for enhanced rider control and safety.
Racing Modifications Overview
All these modifications transform the Aprilia RS 457 from a street machine into a competitive track weapon through the dedicated Racing Trophy Kit. This kit is designed for ease of installation and affordability but makes the bike non-street-legal. Most changes are reversible, allowing owners to revert to stock configuration if desired.

This new version aims to provide racers with an edge in performance while maintaining flexibility in reverting to its original state when needed.
