Ampere Nexus Launched At Rs 1,09,900 - Family Electric Scooter With 136km Range

Indian EV manufacturer Greaves Electric has launched the Ampere Nexus electric scooter in India. The Ampere Nexus is offered at an introductory price of Rs 1,09,900 for the base EX variant and Rs 1,19,900 for the ST model( all prices are ex-showroom).

The Ampere Nexus is powered by an IP67-certified, 3kWh LFP chemistry battery pack that delivers a CMVR-certified range of 136 kilometres on a single charge. The Ampere is offered with a 15A charger as standard while a 25A fast charger is offered as an optional add-on and allows for a charge time of 3.3 hours.

The battery pack of the Ampere Nexus powers a single electric motor that delivers a nominal power output of 4.42bhp and a peak output of 5.36bhp. The Ampere Nexus offers three riding modes - Eco, City and Power that allow for top speeds of 42km/h, 63km/h and 93km/h.

Ampere also offers two other riding modes with the Nexus - Reverse and Limp Home. The Reverse mode as its name suggests allows you to travel in the opposite direction to the regular flow and is limited to 3km/h. The Limp Home mode helps when battery levels go under 20 per cent.

The Ampere Nexus features a 1,319mm long wheelbase including a 235mm long floorboard. The seat height is a very approachable 712mm while the seat length is 703mm. The Nexus offers 170mm of ground clearance.

The Ampere Nexus electric scooter rides on 12-inch wheels that are shod with 90/90-12 tyres. The Nexus features telescopic front forks and twin shocks along with a swingarm to help it deal with rough stuff with ease.

In terms of design, the Ampere Nexus looks rather like a conventional ICE scooter. At the front, the Nexus features a diamond-cut LED headlight while at the rear, the rectangular taillight with its unique design ensures that your eyes stay glued to it.

The footboard features a unique design inspired by the wings of the Artic Tern. Also seen is a practical frunk while the large under-seat storage can take an XL-sized helmet and a bit more. The sides also play host to the hazard lights; footrests for the pillion riders that slide out of the sides of the Nexus and grab handles as well.

The Ampere Nexus ST variant features a 7-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth and Wifi connectivity options. The display allows for turn-by-turn navigation and over-the-air software updates as well as call alerts and the ability to control your music on the go. The base EX variant gets a 6.2-inch digital display.

The Ampere Nexus is offered in four colour options - Zanskar Aqua, Lunar White, Steel Grey and Indian Red.
