Ampere Nexus: New Flagship Electric Scooter To Be Launched On April 30
The much-anticipated Ampere Nexus is set to make its debut in India on April 30. Touted as the flagship model of the Ampere scooter lineup, the Nexus stands out with several pioneering features for the brand.
Among these are the introduction of a front disc brake, marking a first for Ampere's range of electric scooters. It is anticipated that the Nexus will carry a price tag higher than the Rs 1.46 lakh Primus, setting a new benchmark in the brand's pricing strategy.
At its core, the Nexus will be powered by an LFP (Lithium Ferrous Phosphate) battery, noted for its safety due to better thermal characteristics, albeit at the expense of a lower energy density compared to the NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) batteries.
The scooter will offer riders four different riding modes, catering to various user preferences for efficiency and performance. This move to include an LFP battery aligns with Ampere's claim of offering the 'safest battery’ in their scooters.
Design-wise, the Nexus aims to elevate the riding experience with premium touches such as bodywork-integrated footpegs and comprehensive LED lighting. A large digital display, spotted in earlier sightings of the Nexus, promises modern convenience, though it is yet to be revealed whether it will be a TFT or LCD screen.
Drawing from the NXG concept unveiled at Auto Expo 2023, the Nexus is expected to boast a range of 120km on a single charge. However, the exact battery capacity and whether this range is a certified figure or based on real-world testing remains to be confirmed.
