Bajaj Freedom 125: Top 5 Things You Need To Know
Bajaj has introduced the world's first CNG motorcycle, the Freedom 125. Prices for this innovative bike range from Rs 95,000 to Rs 1,10,000 (Ex-showroom). The motorcycle is available in three variants and seven colours. Here are five key aspects of the new Bajaj Freedom 125.
Design
The design of the Bajaj Freedom 125 is quite impressive for a budget commuter bike. It features an ADV-inspired look with a silver-finished exposed trellis frame effect, a long seat, a colour-coded grab rail, stylish tail light, beefy front fork covers, engine cowl, and tank shrouds. That being said, the Freedom 125 does somewhat look like Honda Navi's elder brother.

Variants and Pricing
The Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG comes in three variants: Drum, Drum LED, and Disc LED. These variants are priced at Rs 95,000, Rs 1.05 lakh, and Rs 1.1 lakh (Ex-showroom) respectively. The base variant features halogen headlights while the top two trims offer LED headlights. Only the top trim includes front disc brakes.
There are seven colour options available. The base Drum variant offers Pewter Grey-Yellow and Ebony Black-Red options. The top two variants come in Caribbean Blue, Ebony Black-Grey, Pewter Grey-Black, Racing Red, and Cyber White.

Bi-fuel Petrol+CNG Powertrain
The standout feature of the Bajaj Freedom 125 is its Bi-fuel Petrol+CNG powertrain. This horizontally mounted 125cc single-cylinder engine can run on both petrol and CNG. Riders can switch between fuels with a simple flick of a switch. The engine produces 9.5 PS of power at 8,000 RPM and 9.7 Nm of torque at 6,000 RPM.
The fuel tank holds 2 litres of petrol while the CNG tank can store up to 2 kg of gas. A common filler cap on top of the fuel tank allows for filling both petrol and CNG. Bajaj assures that the motorcycle has passed 11 safety tests based on industry standards.

Mileage and Running Costs
The Bajaj Freedom 125 boasts impressive fuel efficiency figures. When running on CNG, it delivers a mileage of 102 km/kg and when using petrol, it offers 67 km/l. With a full tank of petrol (2 litres), the bike can cover approximately 130 km. The CNG tank provides an additional range of about 200 km.
Combined, the total range from one filling is around 330 km, making it an economical choice for commuters looking to save on running costs.

Features and Hardware
The Bajaj Freedom 125 is well-equipped with features for its segment. It includes a fully digital instrument cluster with a reverse LCD screen displaying various information such as gear position, time, side stand warning, and CNG levels. Bluetooth connectivity and a USB port are also part of the package.
In terms of hardware, the bike comes with RSU telescopic front forks behind muscular fork covers and a linked mono-shock unit at the rear. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels fitted with tubeless tyres. Disc brakes are available only at the front while turn indicators are halogens; however, LED headlights and tail lights are provided in the top variant.
