Bengaluru's Melvin Anto Breaks National K2K Record: Finishes In Just 2 And A Half Days

Melvin Anto, 24, from Ulsoor, Bengaluru, set a national record for the fastest motorcycle journey from Kanyakumari to Kashmir (K2K) in just two-and-a-half days. His mother, KK Vasanda Rani, thought he was going on a short trip. However, Melvin's ambitious journey was a well-planned record attempt.

Journey Details

Melvin began his record-setting trip at 5:36 am on April 13 from Kanyakumari. He reached Srinagar at 5:09 pm on April 15, covering 3,613 km in 59 hours and 33 minutes.

Despite a flat tyre and frequent security checks, Melvin maintained an average speed of 110-120 km/hour, surpassing the previous record of 61 hours and 22 minutes.

Preparation and Support

An avid biker since his college days, Melvin was inspired by Kannada YouTuber Deepak's K2K record. Disappointed with his studies and career, he decided to break the record. He prepared secretly and embarked on the journey with his six-month-old KTM 390 Adventure.

Melvin relied on his friend Raksha S for navigation and traffic alerts. Friends Prashal Rishab, Jatik Kukreja, and Joseph Alister motivated him mentally through regular phone calls. Within 24 hours, he completed 1,821 km, reaching Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh.

Challenges and Triumphs

Melvin faced a major challenge near Jhansi due to a flat tyre. With broken Hindi, he spent over an hour seeking help. Local citizens assisted him in repairing the tyre. Despite the physical exhaustion, the scenic views in Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh kept him motivated.

DriveSpark Thinks

Upon reaching Srinagar, Melvin was exhausted and unaware of his achievement due to bad weather. His friends confirmed his record over the phone. "The first thing I did was sit under a hot shower for a complete reboot," he said.

Melvin's journey will not only test his endurance and determination but also serve as a platform to inspire others to push their limits and chase their dreams. He hopes to document his travels and share his experiences to motivate people to step out of their comfort zones and explore the world around them.
