2024 Honda African Twin Launched – New Powertrain & A Lot More
Honda has launched the 2024 Honda Africa Twin lineup - Standard Africa Twin and the Africa Twin Adventure Sport ES. The models have undergone a series of upgrades to make the motorcycle an improvement over its immediate predecessor.
That being said, the Honda African Twin motorcycle range is globally acclaimed for its off-road capabilities and many prospective Indian buyers are waiting for the arrival of the updated version of the motorcycle in the country.

In terms of pricing, the newly launched 2024 African Twin Standard is priced at JPY 1,639,000 (approx. Rs. 9 Lakh) for the manual gearbox model, and JPY 1,747,000 (approx. Rs. 9.6 lakh) for the DCT variant.
On the other hand, prices for the Africa Twin Adventure Sports ES starts at JPY 1,947,000 (approx. Rs. 10.7 lakh) for the manual variant and goes all the way up to JPY 2,057,000 (approx. Rs. 11.3 lakh) for the DCT variant.

Powertrain
The 2024 Honda African Twin gets an upgraded powertrain setup in the form of 1,048cc, Unicam, 4-Valve, liquid-cooled parallel twin-cylinder engine with updated intake and exhaust systems.
On top of that, engineers at Honda have increased the compression ratio to 10.5:1 and updated the valve timing and fuel injection maps. These updates to the powertrain result in a 7% increase in torque.
According to Honda, the increase in torque is particularly noticeable in the mid-range. In terms of numbers, this updated powertrain puts out 98bhp at 7,500 RPM and 112Nm of torque at 5,500 RPM.

Other Changes
Some of the noticeable differences between the updated model and its predecessor lie in fairings, knuckle guards, and windshield heights. Furthermore, the updated model comes in new colour schemes and graphics.
Standard Vs Adventure Sports ES
The 2024 Honda African Twin Adventure Sports ES model sports a smaller 19-inch front wheel with 110/80-19 tubeless tyres, while the Standard model is equipped with a bigger 21-inch front wheel with 90/90-21 tyres.
Other features that are exclusive to the Adventure Sports ES variant include cruise control, heated grips, black 45mm USD front forks, and an electronically controlled suspension, offering a more premium experience to its user.
