Yamaha YZF-R3 & MT-03 Motorcycles To Be Launch Date Confirmed – Know All Details Here
In recent times, the entry-level premium motorcycle segment has been showcasing consistent growth in India. This has attracted the attention of quite a few motorcycle manufacturers including Yamaha.
Yamaha is not new to this segment in India after having launched the YZF-R3 motorcycle a few years ago. However, this motorcycle was discontinued a few years after its launch due to the implementation of stricter BS6 emission regulations.
Now, Yamaha is all geared up to once again compete in the entry-level premium motorcycle segment in India with the latest version of the Yamaha YZF-R3. Now, Yamaha has also confirmed that the model will be launched in India on December 15 along with the Yamaha MT-03.
Powering the latest iteration of the Yamaha YZF-R3 and MT-03 motorcycles is a 321cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine. This engine in both these is tuned to produce 41bhp at 10,750rpm and 29.5Nm of peak torque at 9,000rpm.
Also, to effectively channel this power to the rear wheels, both these motorcycles also use a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch. In terms of hardware, the Yamaha YZF-R3 uses a diamond frame with 37mm USD forks at the front and a pre-load adjustable KYB mono suspension at the rear.
As such, the upcoming Yamaha MT-03 is also expected to come equipped with almost identical hardware components. However, being a naked motorcycle, the Yamaha MT-03 will have a more upright riding position.
Last time, when Yamaha launched the Yamaha YZF-R3 was one of the most desirable motorcycles you can buy in the country. Also, it was more powerful than its nearest competitor, the Kawasaki Ninja 300.
What made the Yamaha YZF-R3 very desirable among motorcycle enthusiasts in India was its powertrain. Unlike most other motorcycles sold in India at that time, the Yamaha YZF-R3 featured a parallel-twin powertrain setup, which was very rev-happy in nature.
