Yamaha YZF-R3 Is Coming To India – To Be Launched In This Month
The entry-level premium motorcycle segment has showcased a consistent growth rate in India. This has attracted the attention of quite a few motorcycle manufacturers, and the latest to get attracted is Yamaha.
That being said, Yamaha had earlier ventured into this segment with the launch of the Yamaha YZF-R3 motorcycle. However, it was discontinued after a few years due to the implementation of stricter BS-6 emission regulations in the country.
Now, Yamaha is all geared up to once again compete in the entry-level premium motorcycle segment with the latest version of the Yamaha YZF-R3 motorcycle. Also, this upcoming motorcycle is said to be launched in December 2023.
Powering the latest iteration of the Yamaha YZF-R3 motorcycle is a 321cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine. This engine in the upcoming Yamaha YZF-R3 is tuned to produce 41bhp at 10,750rpm and 29.5Nm of peak torque at 9,000rpm.
Also, to effectively channel this power to the rear wheels, the motorcycle will use a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch. In terms of hardware, the motorcycle will use a diamond frame with 37mm USD forks at the front and a pre-load adjustable KYB mono suspension at the rear.
It is also said that the upcoming Yamaha YZF-R3 motorcycle will be launched along with the Yamaha MT-03 motorcycle in India. Speaking about the Yamaha MT-03, the motorcycle is the naked version of the Yamaha YZF-R3 motorcycle.
As such, the upcoming Yamaha MT-03 motorcycle will come equipped with almost identical powertrain and hardware components. However, being a naked motorcycle, the Yamaha MT-03 will have a more upright riding position.
Looking back in time, the Yamaha YZF-R3 was one of the most desirable motorcycles you can buy in the country. Also, it was more powerful than its nearest competitor, the Kawasaki Ninja 300.

With the launch of the Yamaha YZF-R3 motorcycle, the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer will be looking forward to marking its entry into the growing entry-level premium motorcycle segment.
However, the success of the Yamaha YZF-R3 motorcycle will heavily depend upon the pricing. Also, some dealers have already started unofficial bookings for the upcoming Yamaha YZF-R3 motorcycle.
