This Yamaha RX135s Makeover to RX King Will Blow Your Mind!
The Yamaha RX100 continues to be a revered icon among aficionados of two-stroke motorcycles, especially those who reminisce about its glory in the 90s. Locating a Yamaha RX100 or its sibling, the RX135, in pristine condition is a rarity, with most of these legendary bikes having either undergone extensive transformations or having changed hands due to maintenance challenges.
However, for enthusiasts, the allure of a well-preserved RX model can command a handsome price. A recent example is a video feature by RATHISH VIEW on YouTube, highlighting a Yamaha RX135 that underwent an extraordinary makeover, with a total modification expenditure of Rs. 3.2 lakh.

The Journey from RX135 to RX King
The video delves into a conversation with an RX135 owner who, with his team, embarked on an ambitious endeavor to convert their motorcycle into the RX King, a variant that enjoyed popularity in markets like Indonesia.
To achieve this, the owner sourced parts and panels internationally. Establishing connections in Malaysia, he bridged the language gap to obtain genuine components from Indonesian suppliers.
The makeover is comprehensive, with the original round headlamps giving way to a modern, rectangular, all-LED array. The turn indicators, too, have been upgraded with those of the RX King's pedigree. The dashboard retains a semblance to the RX135 but with subtle refinements. The transformation is so thorough that, save for the engine and chassis, every element has been replaced or enhanced.
Upgrades and Customization
The bike now boasts steel rims, not the factory originals, but imported specimens from Indonesia, encased in 17-inch track tires and equipped with disc brakes on both ends.

In an innovative twist, the front disc is borrowed from the Ntorq scooter, while RCB supplies the calipers and master cylinder for both front and rear brakes. The suspension system, too, has seen a significant upgrade.
The owner's commitment to detail is evident in the custom-made seat, which, like many other parts, was imported. The assembly of this custom bike, dubbed the "White Wolf" in homage to the owner's pet dog, was a swift 10-day affair, facilitated by the availability of parts that the owner had on hand.
A striking feature of the White Wolf is its paint scheme – predominantly white adorned with purple graphics, a nod to the owner's personal brand. The aesthetic is completed by a custom-made lobster tail underbelly exhaust that ensures this bike's growl matches its bite.

After investing around Rs 3.2 lakh in creating this bespoke machine, the owner was able to sell it for a profit at approximately Rs 3.5 lakh. The unique build has not only caught the eye of fellow enthusiasts but has also garnered admiration from law enforcement officers, who have reportedly stopped the owner simply to express their appreciation for the motorcycle's craftsmanship.
DriveSpark Thinks
The Yamaha RX135's transformation into the RX King is a testament to the enduring passion for vintage two-stroke motorcycles in India. It demonstrates the lengths to which enthusiasts will go to preserve and enhance these machines, blending nostalgia with modern performance and style.
