Updated Honda Dio Scooter Launched In India At Rs 70,211 – New Features, Updated Engine & More
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) launched the updated version of the Honda Dio scooter in India at Rs 70,211 (ex-showroom). The updated Honda Dio scooter comes with more features, an updated engine, and new graphics.
Starting with the powertrain, the updated Honda Dio scooter now features BS6 Phase 2-compliant powertrain. This 109.51cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine produces 7.65bhp and 9Nm of torque. Like before, power is sent to the rear wheel via a CVT gearbox.
In terms of features, the updated Honda Dio scooter now features a revised digital instrument cluster with added features such as distance-to-empty, real-time fuel efficiency, and average fuel efficiency. Apart from that, the updated Dio also comes with 12-inch front wheels and telescopic front suspension.
Other noticeable features in the updated Honda Dio scooter include a new front pocket, 3-step adjustable rear suspension, pass switch, engine start/stop, LED headlamps, LED DRLs, and a redesigned 18-litre underseat storage.
On top of that, HMSI also introduced the 'Smart' variant of the Honda Dio scooter. This new variant of the Honda Dio scooter comes with a 'Smart Key', which enables features such as Smart Find, Smart Unlock, Smart Start and Smart Safe.
In addition to the added 'Smart' features, the Honda Dio Smart variant also comes with alloy wheels. These added features justify the premium pricing of the 'Smart' variant which stands at Rs 77,712 (ex-showroom).
In total, there are three variants of the Honda Dio scooter currently on sale in India. This is including the mid-spec 'Deluxe' variant, which is priced at Rs 74,212 (ex-showroom).
Coming to the colour options, all variants of the updated Honda Dio scooters are available in 3 colours. However, colour options vary with variants. The Standard variant comes in Sports Red2, Jazzy Blue Metallic, and Mat Axis Grey Metallic.
On the other hand, the Hond Dio Deluxe variant is offered in Dazzle Yellow Metallic, Mat Axis Grey Metallic, and Mat Sangria Red Metallic colour options. Finally, the Smart variant comes in Pearl Igneous Black, Mat Sangria Red Metallic, and Mat Dark Blue Metallic colour options.
Thoughts About The Updated Honda Dio Scooter
With the launch of the new Honda scooter, the Japanese automaker will be able to attract the attention of more buyers with its added features. Also, the new 'Smart' variant is expected to attract new set of customers as well.
