TVS X Launched At Rs 2.5 Lakhs With 140km Range & Nearly 15bhp On Tap - Changing The E-Scooter Game
Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturer TVS has revealed the X electric scooter. The TVS X was revealed to the world in Dubai and is priced at Rs 2,49,900 ex-showroom (Bangalore).
The TVS X is the latest product from the firm's venture into the world of electric vehicles after the iQube. However, with the X, TVS has gone down the performance route. Bookings for the TVS X start today and deliveries will start in November in Bangalore.
The TVS X is based on the firm's Xleton platform. The TVS X features a precision cast high-strength aluminium alloy frame which the firm claims is 2.5 stiffer than regular scooters. It is suspended on telescopic front forks and an offset rear monoshock.
The TVS X rides on 12-inch alloy wheels that come draped in specially developed tyres that measure 100/80 at the front and 110/80 at the rear. The brakes are discs (220mm front and 195mm rear) and are aided by ABS.
The battery pack is a large 4.4kWh unit housed between the rider's legs that delivers a claimed IDC (Indian driving conditions) range of 140km on a single charge and fast charging to 50% in 50 minutes.
The battery pack powers a mid-mounted electric motor that is cooled with the help of a RAM air intake at the front of the TVS X. The motor has a nominal power output of 9.3bhp and a peak output of 14.75bhp.
This allows the TVS X electric scooter to sprint from 0-40km/h in just 2.6 seconds with the 0-60km/taking 4.5 seconds. The top speed of the TVS X is 105km/h.
The TVS X offers three riding modes - Xtealth, Xtride and Xonic. These ride modes can be controlled by the large 10.25-inch touchscreen X-tilt TFT display which takes two-wheeled connectivity to a whole new level.
The TVS X comes packed with tech including selectable regeneration, intelligent cruise control, smart hill hold control, speed limiter, crash alert, overspeeding alert, geo-fencing, auto locking, tow and theft alert, live location sharing and more.
The TVS X's design is reminiscent of the Creon concept scooter from the 2018 Auto Expo. The front features a multi-led vertical headlight and sleek turn indicators.
The rear follows the same design pattern with a single vertical brake light and conventional LED turn indicators. The TVS X features customisable lighting signatures and complimentary sound signatures.
The TVS X also comes with a special Club Concierge Service which allows owners special access to dining, entertainment and sports venue setups.

The TVS X marks a big shift in philosophy for the Chennai-based firm's electric ambitions that see it veer towards what it does best - provide access to fun on-road performance. With the TVS X, the marque has taken the Indian EV scooter game to the top.
