TVS Apache RTR 310 Vs KTM 250 Duke: Quick Comparison
TVS recently launched the new Apache RTR 310 motorcycle in India. Following this launch, KTM also launched the new KTM 250 Duke motorcycle with an updated powertrain, revised hardware, and refreshed styling
Furthermore, both of these models are somewhat similarly priced and target the same customer base. This makes both these motorcycles natural rivals. As such, here is a quick comparison between the TVS Apache RTR 310 and KTM 250 Duke motorcycles.

Price: Price plays a crucial part in the buying decision and despite the displacement advantage, the TVS Apache RTR 310 motorcycle and the new KTM 250 Suke motorcycle fall under similar price brackets with marginal difference.
While the new TVS Apache RTR 310 motorcycle is priced at Rs 2.43 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the TVS Apache RTR 310 Dynamic Pro variant is priced at Rs 2.65 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the KTM 250 Duke motorcycle is priced at Rs 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom).

Design: Though the new KTM 250 Duke motorcycle features an all-new design, the motorcycle looks very KTM-ish with splashes of Orange shade. This has become quite a common sight on Indian roads and the motorcycle does not look that special anymore.
On the other hand, the new TVS Apache RTR 310 motorcycle comes out as a fresher-looking motorcycle with sharp angles and a muscular stance. Also, the new Apache RTR 310 looks a tad bit sharper than the new bulkier 250 Duke motorcycle.

Powertrain: Though the new 250 Duke motorcycle uses the same 249cc, single-cylinder, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine as its predecessor, the engine seems to have been thoroughly updated. As a result, the model now puts out 30.57bhp at 9,250rpm and 25Nm of torque at 7,250rpm (1bhp and 1Nm more).
The TVS Apache RTR 310 uses the same 312cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the TVS Apache RR310. As a result, it produces more power and torque at 35bhp and 28.7 Nm of torque at 9,700rpm and 6,650rpm, respectively.''
Hardware: Both motorcycles sport trellis frame and come equipped with USD forks at the front and mono-shock at the rear. However, the KTM 250 Duke sports a 20mm larger disc brake at the front (320mm vs 300mm), but the rear disc brake dimensions are identical at 240mm.
Features: The TVS Apache RTR 310 motorcycle and the new KTM 250 Duke motorcycle come with plenty of features including riding modes, slip & assist clutch, quickshifter, dual-channel ABS, fully digital instrument cluster and more. However, it is the TVS Apache RTR 310 comes with better connectivity features.
Thoughts: Though the new KTM 250 Duke sports new hardware and a revised design, the model does not stand out as much as the new TVS Apache RTR 310 motorcycle. Furthermore, given the small price difference, the new Apache RTR offers more power and torque.
