TVS Apache RTE Unveiled At MotoSoul 2023: New Electric Racer Is Here
TVS Apache RTE unveiled at MotoSoul 2023. The TVS Apache RTE is an all-electric racing motorcycle that will be used for the firm's new electric one-make championship was also announced at the event.
The new TVS Apache RTE is powered by a liquid-cooled axial flux motor that produces 59kW or 79.12bhp of peak power and can lap the Madras International Circuit (previously Madras Motor Race Track) 5 times on a single charge.
TVS claims that Apache RTE can lap the Madras International Circuit (MIC) 3.1 seconds faster than an equivalent internal combustion engine-powered motorcycle and that it was able to top out in excess of 200km/h at the same track.
Other performance figures mentioned included a 0-100km/h sprint time that is one second faster than the best of the equivalent ICE motorcycles on offer. The Apache RTE is also a claimed 1.8 seconds faster than an ICE equivalent over a quarter mile.
The TVS Apache RTE sports an aluminium frame with the carbon fibre battery case with the two symmetric battery packs arranged in series for quick swapping and the electric motor both acting as stressed members.
The frame is suspended over Ohlins FGRT 43 front suspension while the rear end sports an Ohlins TTX 36 monoshock. The Apache RTE's braking system includes a set of discs from Brembo with the front being a 320mm unit and the rear a 240mm disc.
The TVS Apache RTE's aerodynamic full-faired setup rides on 17-inch wheels. These rims are shod with Pirelli Super Cross SCI tyres - 110/70 (front) and 140/70 (rear).
The TVS Apache RTE sports a Plex SDM-550 dashboard data logger that features a 5-inch display. The IP67-rated screen offers up data like lap times with intermediates, GPS speed and trajectories, lean angle, rpm and smart alarms and warnings. The system features a 25Hz concurrent GNSS module and a 100Hz IMU.

The TVS Apache RTE is the first all-electric motorcycle from the Hosur-based two-wheeler manufacturer. Built for its new all-electric one-make racing series, the TVS Apache RTE will soon be seen zipping across the track in anger, which will hopefully mean that we get roading electric TVS bikes sometime sometime in the near future.
