Tork Kratos-R Urban Trim Launched At Rs 1.67 Lakh – Aimed At City Riders
Tork Motors has launched the new Urban trim on its Kratos-R electric motorcycle in India at Rs 1.67 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune). According to the company, this new trim level is aimed at city riders.
Launching the new trim, Kapil Shelke, Founder and CEO of Tork Motors, said, "The new 'Urban' trim fulfils the requirements of an urban commuter who wants uncompromised performance and range at a very accessible price point and the features that he needs on an everyday basis."
Speaking about the new Urban trim level based on the existing Kratos-R electric motorcycle, the model comes with limited features. However, the available features are very useful for everyday city commutes.
Also, the newly launched Tork Kratos-R Urban trim level comes with 'City' ride mode. Other than that, the model comes with a top speed of 70km/h while delivering a range of more than 100 kilometres on a fully charged battery pack.
Moreover, the Tork Kratos-R Urban comes equipped with a 4.0kWh Li-ion battery pack. This battery pack is IP 67 rated and powers an 'Axial Flux' motor. The efficiency of this electric motor is rated at 96 per cent and the company has recently been granted a patent for it.
In terms of design, the new Tork Kratos-R Urban trim electric motorcycle remains identical to the standard model. Moreover, the electric motorcycle will also be made available in three solid colours - Streaky Red, Oceanic Blue, and Midnight Black.
As mentioned, the new Tork Kratos-R Urban trim comes with limited features. However, new buyers will be able to access the complete suite of features without any restrictions for 30 days.
These temporarily available features include multi-ride modes (Eco, City & Sports), reverse mode, fast charging, in-app navigation, live dash over Bluetooth, vehicle locator, anti-theft system, geofencing, charging point location, OTA updates, ride analytics, track mode analytics, smart analytics and guide me home lights.
That being said, Tork Kratos-R Urban trim customers can pay Rs 20,000 extra to get the above-listed features unlocked. However, this purchase has to be done within the first six months of purchase.
Thoughts About Tork Kratos-R Urban Trim
The newly introduced Tork Kratos-R Urban trim seems to be identical to the standard model in terms of hardware. As such, Rs 20,000 for a 'software unlock' seems a little unreasonable.
