The new Ducati Hypermotard 698 uses the Ducati's 659cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled Superquadro Mono engine with Desmodromic valves. This engine in the Ducati Hypermotard 698 pushed out 76.7bhp at 9,750rpm and 63Nm of peak torque at 8,000rpm.

Power and torque figures can be tweaked to 83.6bhp and 67Nm by replacing the stock exhaust with an optional Termignoni racing exhaust. Ducati claims 70 per cent of the torque is available at 3,000rpm, and torque never drops below 80 per cent between 4,500rpm and 10,250rpm.

The Ducati Hypermotard 698 motorcycle uses 120/70 ZR17 tyres at the front and 160/60 ZR17 tyres at the rear. Electronics package includes cornering ABS, traction control, 3 power modes, 4 riding modes, launch control, wheelie control (optional), and a 3.5-inch LCD dash to control all the above tech.
