American two-wheeler manufacturer Harley-Davidson finally launched the long-awaited X440 motorcycle in India. As such, here are the top 5 things you need to know about the new Harley-Davidson X440 motorcycle.
Variants & Price
The new Harley-Davidson X440 motorcycle is offered in 3 different variants - Denim, Vivid, and S. Out of these variants, the 'Denim' is the base variant, whereas the 'S' is the top-spec offering.
That being said, the prices for the Harley-Davidson X440 motorcycle start from Rs 2.29 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes all the way up to Rs 2.69 lakh (ex-showroom) for the 'S' variant. Moreover, the mid-spec 'Vivid' variant is priced at 2.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
Design
Design-wise the new Harley-Davidson X440 motorcycle looks pretty butch with its large muscular fuel tank and a sleek tail section. Additionally, this motorcycle also features plenty of circular design elements to pull off the neo-retro looks.
In terms of colour options, Harley-Davidson is offering a total of 4 colour options - Mustard Denim, Metallic Dark Silver, Metallic Thick Silver, and Matte Black. Out of these colours, the first and last colours are exclusive to the base and top-spec models, respectively.
Powertrain
Powering the all-new Harley-Davidson X440 motorcycle is a single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine. This engine is tuned to produce 27bhp at 6,000rpm and 38Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. It is also worth mentioning that the new Harley-Davidson X440 motorcycle comes with a 6-speed gearbox.
Hardware
Though Harley-Davidson is yet to reveal the exact hardware details, it is revealed that the newly launched X440 motorcycle comes equipped with 43mm USD forks at the front with a dual-cartridge damping system, and twin gas-filled shock absorbers at the rear.
Furthermore, the manufacturer also revealed that the Harley-Davidson X440 motorcycle comes equipped with a disc brake set up at both ends. While the disc brake at the front measures 320mm, the company is yet to reveal the specification of the one in the rear. Additionally, the motorcycle also features dual-channel ABS.
Features
In terms of features, the Harley-Davidson X440 motorcycle comes equipped with features such as all-LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster with ambient light sensor, Bluetooth connectivity, and more. Other noticeable features include turn-by-turn navigation, call answer, music control, distance-to-empty, and gear position.

With a starting price of Rs 2.29 lakh (ex-showroom), Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp have shocked the country with their aggressive pricing strategy.
