EICMA 2023: Suzuki GSX-S1000GX Revealed - Another Hyper Tourer Emerges
Suzuki GSX-S1000GX revealed at EICMA. The new GSX-S1000GX hyper tourer was revealed alongside the GSX-8R sports bike in Milan today and takes on the likes of the BMW S 1000 XR and the Kawasaki Versys 1000 among others.
The Suzuki GSX-S1000GX is based on the Japanese firm's GSX-1000GT which debuted last year and it uses the same four-cylinder litre class powerplant as that bike. The engine has a bore and stroke of 73.4mm and 59mm respectively.

The GSX-S1000GX's 999cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, four-cylinder engine pushes out 150bhp at 11,000rpm and 106Nm of peak torque at 9,250rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheel by a six-speed gearbox and chain drive.
The Suzuki GSX-S1000GX features a twin-spar frame with a braced aluminium swingarm along with semi-active suspension. The new GSX-S1000GX is the first motorcycle from the Japanese marque to sport semi-active damping. The Showa USD front forks and rear monoshock can automatically adjust on the fly depending on the conditions and offer 150mm of wheel travel.

The GSX-S1000GX rides on 17-inch six-spoke cast aluminium rims which come shod with Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tyres measuring 120/70 ZR17 at the front and 190/50 ZR17 at the rear. Braking duties are handled by twin 310 discs at the front clamped down by 4-piston Brembo radial monoblock callipers and a single disc at the rear (size and calliper count unknown).
The Suzuki GSX-S1000GX sports a design that we're quite familiar with when it comes to tourers. From the beak-like front end, muscular tank (19-litre) raised seat (845mm) and ground clearance (155mm), the GSX-S1000-GX has it all.

However, there are quite a few unique features as well that make it stand out from the crowd. These include the small, vertically stacked, LED headlights that are flanked by angular LED position lamps on either side that give the bike a rather angry look. Another highlight is the four-into-two-into-one exhaust system with its short muffler looks cool and helps the Suzuki vent its its fury at the world.
Other highlights of the Suzuki GSX-S1000GX include a Bluetooth-enabled 6.5-inch TFT display and a USB port that sits on its side. Cruise control can be activated using a switch on the right-hand side. The Suzuki also comes packed with tech like traction control, anti-wheelie, roll torque control and the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System ride modes.

Thoughts About The Suzuki GSX-S1000GX
The GSX-S1000GX sees Suzuki enter the hyper tourer game that is slowly but surely catching on in international markets. Like other bikes in the segment it combines brilliant touring ability with a manic engine and capable suspension that ensures that no matter if you're cutting across the track or cruising down the highway, the Suzuki GSX-S1000GX feels at home.
