SUN Mobility Pairs With Swiggy For Clean Energy Delivery

SUN Mobility collaborates with Swiggy to revolutionize delivery operations by advancing the use of electric bikes. The partnership aims to energize a fleet of over 15,000 e-bikes in the next 12 months using SUN Mobility's advanced battery-swapping technology.

In an effort to revolutionize the final stages of delivery operations and further the cause of eco-friendly transportation in the nation, SUN Mobility paired up with Swiggy. This new partnership aims to energize over 15,000 electric bikes in Swiggy's delivery armada in the ensuing 12 months.

Moreover, this collaboration grants Swiggy's electric bike delivery workforce access to the latest battery-swapping technology from SUN Mobility. Along with that comes a vast array of battery-exchange stations. The integration of electric bikes into the pool of delivery vehicles used by Swiggy's delivery personnel helps the firm improve its deliveries.

SUN Mobility & Swiggy Partner

Speaking about the collaboration, SUN Mobility's CEO, Anant Badjatya said "Our main objective is to enhance sustainable final-mile deliveries by electrifying the delivery fleet. Through our alliance with Swiggy, we concur with our joint vision of minimizing our carbon output, endorsing eco-friendly mobility, and contributing to a cleaner environment."

Sharing the same sentiment, Mihir Shah, Operations Head at Swiggy said, "In our continuous quest for cleaner transportation, Swiggy incessantly seeks avenues to boost the uptake of electric vehicles in our delivery armada."

"Our collaboration with SUN Mobility helps us overcome concerns regarding the availability of battery-swapping stations, thereby empowering our delivery partners to keep moving without incurring extra travel distances or experiencing delays due to battery swaps. This will also translate into fuel and vehicle maintenance savings while contributing to a greener milieu." Shah added.

That being said, Swiggy's delivery team, on average, covers a distance of 80-100 kilometres a day - Efficiently delivering millions of orders each month. With the easy availability of battery-swap stations in busy hotspots like crowded eateries, Swiggy aims to persuade its fleet of delivery executives to transition towards EVs.

This potentially saves delivery partners up to 40 per cent of vehicle operation costs and positively impacts earnings. Aligning with Swiggy's pledge to clock 8 Lakh kilometres per day via electric vehicles by 2025, the move is a milestone in the firm's eco-friendly journey.
