Royal Enfield Price Hike

The Chennai-based motorcycle manufacturer has recently decided to increase the prices of certain models of its fleet. It is assumed that this move responds to various factors affecting the company, such as rising input costs and inflationary pressures.

It was reported that prices would be hiked for their popular models like Hunter, Classic, Scram, and Himalayan. Earlier, RE had also increased the price of its flagship motorcycle, the "Super Meteor 650".

The Hunter 350 has quickly gained traction in the market and did impressive sales within months of its launch. Based on the J-platform, It has a wheelbase of 1,370 mm, and the seat is 800 mm. The bike weighs 178 kg, which makes it the lightest of the RE lineup.

Powering the Hunter 350 is the familiar 349cc, single-cylinder engine. It produces 20.2bhp and 27Nm of torque and is paired with a 5-speed transmission. The bike has disc brakes at both ends and dual-channel ABS.

The Classic 350, in its latest update, is a well-crafted motorcycle admired by many. Powering the Classic 350 is a 349cc, single-cylinder, DOHC engine that produces 20.3bhp and 27Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

The Himalayan 411 is highly regarded as India's favourite motorcycle for off-road adventures. On the other hand, the Scram 411 offers a more accessible and youthful take on the Himalayan.

Both Himalayan 411 and Scram 411 are powered by the same 411cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. It produces 24.3bhp and 32Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

While it may come as a disappointment to prospective buyers, Royal Enfield bikes are still in demand. With the hike in prices resale value of these bikes is also expected to rise. However, it is disappointing that the customers can only expect the same features as earlier models.
