The upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is one of the most anticipated motorcycles in the country. This new model is touted to come with a more powerful engine, which will make the model more suitable for long rides.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Teaser

For starters, the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is referred to as Himalayan 452 in the leaked document. This is because the upcoming model features an all-new 451.65cc, liquid-cooled engine.

According to the leaked homologation document, the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 motorcycle produces 39.5bhp at 8,000rpm. In comparison, the outgoing version of the Royal Enfield Himalayan produces just 24bhp at 6,500rpm.

Interestingly, the new Triumph Speed 400 motorcycle also produces 39.5bhp at 8,000rpm from its 398.15cc, liquid-cooled, 4-valve, DOHC engine. Moreover, the torque figure for this motorcycle stands at 37.5Nm at 6,500rpm.

That being said, the Triumph Speed 400 motorcycle uses a DOHC setup, whereas we expect the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 motorcycle to feature an SOHC layout. As such, we expect the Himalayan 452 to produce a bit more torque as well.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Side

Coming to the dimensions, the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 motorcycle measures 2,245mm long, 852mm wide, and sports a wheelbase of 1,510mm. This makes the Himalayan 452 a bigger bike than the outgoing Himalayan motorcycle.

Analysing the previous spy shots of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 test mules, we can see that the model will come with an all-new circular digital instrument cluster, all-LED lighting, dual-channel ABS tech, USD forks at the front, semi-adjustable monoshock at the rear, and larger front and rear disc brakes.

When launched, the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 is likely to be positioned above the outgoing Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle rather than replacing it. Also, the model will compete against the likes of other adventure motorcycles such as the KTM 390 Adventure, BMW G310 GS, etc.
