Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Deliveries Commence – Check Out All Details Here

Royal Enfield has commenced the deliveries of the new Himalayan 450 motorcycle in India. This new Himalayan 450 motorcycle is more powerful than the model it replaces and opens up a whole new market for the automaker.

Powering the new Royal Enfield Himalayan is an all-new 451.65cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 'Sherpa 450' engine. This new engine is tuned to produce 39.5bhp at 8,000rpm and 40Nm of torque at 5,500rpm.

To complement the more powerful Sherpa 450 engine, the new Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle comes equipped with a 6-speed gearbox. The model also comes equipped with a Slip & Assist clutch for smoother downshifts.

In terms of hardware, the new Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle uses a Twin-Spar frame, and suspension duties are carried out by open cartridge USD forks at the front, and a mono-shock unit at the rear.

In terms of dimensions, the new Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle measures 2,245mm long, 852mm wide, and sports a wheelbase of 1,510mm. Furthermore, the whole bike weighs just 198 kilograms.

Braking power for the new Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle comes from a 320mm disc brake unit at the front and a 270mm disc brake unit at the rear. The model also comes with dual-channel ABS for more effective braking performance.

However, Royal Enfield has added an option to turn off the rear ABS, a feature essential for experienced off-roaders. Coming to the tyres, the new Royal Enfield Himalayan uses a pair of bespoke CEAT 90/90R21 and 140/80R17 tyres at the front and back, respectively.

Features-wise, the new Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle sports an all-new circular full-colour digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, all-LED lighting, 3 ride modes, a height-adjustable seat, traction control and much more.

In terms of pricing, the newly launched Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle starts at Rs 2.69 lakh (ex-showroom). However, this is just an introductory price, and the automaker has already announced that the introductory price will be valid till the 31st of December.
