EICMA 2023: Royal Enfield HIM-E (Himalayan Electric) Revealed - The Silent Future Is On The Way
Royal Enfield HIM-E (Himalayan Electric) revealed at EICMA 2023. The Royal Enfield HIM-E is not a concept but is instead a test bed for the company to try out its future electric powertrains.
In terms of its looks, the Royal Enfield HIM-E looks quite similar to the Himalayan 450 that made its global debut alongside the test bed vehicle at EICMA 2023 in Milan, Italy. However, Royal Enfield has made quite a few tweaks to the electric test bed vehicle to bring down its drag coefficient.
The HIM-E electric Himalayan motorcycle also sports a circular headlamp, a faux fuel tank that blends into the seat, a big wind deflector, and a host of batteries where the engine would be on its ice sibling.
The Royal Enfield HIM-E also sports upside-down front forks what appears to be an adjustable monoshock at the rear and a double-sided swingarm. The spoked wheels include a 21-inch front rim and an 18-inch rear unit. The brakes are discs at both ends.
Royal Enfield claims that the battery pack (no size given) is an integral part of the frame and the company claims that both the battery and motor are off-the-shelf components and that the electric Himalayan has been testing in wind tunnels and the real world for around 18 months now.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan is our first official glimpse at RE's electric future. The electric Himalayan must have been tested under heavy secrecy, considering that no hide or hair of it has been seen to date. We expect an electric Himalayan to appear sometime in 2025.
