Ola S1 X Range Of Electric Scooters Launched In India At Rs 79,999 – Unbeatable Value
On the day of India's 77th Independence Day, Ola Electric launched yet another electrifying range of electric scooters in India. This new Ola S1 X range of electric scooters have been launched at an introductory starting price of Rs 79,999 (ex-showroom).
Diving into details, Ola launched 3 new variants of the Ola S1 X electric scooters. This includes Ola S1 X (2kWh), Ola S1 X, and Ola S1 X+. The latter model comes with additional connectivity features as well.
That being said, the Ola S1 X (2kWh) variant is the entry-level model and features a 2kWh battery pack. Moreover, the introductory price is only valid for one week. After this period, the Ola S1 X (2kWh) model will be priced at Rs 89,999 (ex-showroom).
Also, deliveries of this model is stated to commence before the year's end along with the Ola S1 X variant. Speaking about the Ola S1 X, this variant features a larger 3kWh battery pack and the automaker claims a range of 151km on a fully charged battery pack.
For the first 1 week, this electric scooter is priced at Rs 89,999 (ex-showroom). After the offer period, the Ola S1 X variant with the larger 3kWh battery pack will be priced at Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom).
It is also worth mentioning that the Ola S1 X (2kWh) and Ola S1 X will be featuring key start and lack many of the connectivity features from the high-spec Ola range of electric scooters. This means these scooters are pretty straightforward and simple to use.
Finally, the Ola S1 X+ electric scooter is priced at Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom). However, post the offer period prices for this variant will jump to Rs 1,09,999 (ex-showroom). For this price premium, the Ola S1 X+ features more connectivity features and comes with MoveOS.
That being said, the Ola S1 X+ and the Ola S1 X feature the same hardware as the Ola S1 Air electric scooter. This includes the battery pack, and electric motor set-up. However, for the Ola S1 X (2kWh), only the battery pack size differs (91km certified range).
This means the new Ola S1 X range of electric scooters feature a 6kW hub-mounted electric motor, and a 34-litre boot. In terms of performance, Ola Electric claims that the new Ola S1 X range of electric scooters can reach 40km/h in just 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 90km/h.
In terms of design, the new Ola S1 X range of electric scooters have a very funky dual-tone colour combination, and the model features a more exposed type handlebar setup. Other than that, the model does not seem to be very different compared to the Ola S1 Air.
Thoughts: At Rs 79,999 (ex-showroom), we expect the new Ola S1 X range of electric scooters to attract the attention of even the most loyal fan of ICE scooters. Moreover, this increased attention will significantly improve the overall sales for the company in India.
