Ola Electric recently launched the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 electric scooter in India. However, this scooter will be sold alongside the older Ola S1 Pro (Gen 1) electric scooter. As such, here are the top 5 things you need to know about the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 Electric Scooter.
Price: The newly launched Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 electric scooter is priced at a premium compared to the Ola S1 Pro Gen 1 in India at Rs 1,47,499 (ex-showroom), which is Rs 7,500 more than the Ola S1 Pro Gen 1 electric scooter.

Design: At a glance, the newly launched Ola S1 Pro electric scooter looks quite identical to the Ola S1 Pro Gen 1 electric scooter. However, a closer look reveals that the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 sports quite a few changes compared to the G1 scooter.
Some of the most noticeable changes in the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 electric scooter include a more conventional telescopic suspension, a more practical flat footboard and a tubular rear grab handle.

Hardware & Electronics: Under the skin, plenty of changes have been introduced in the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 scooter. These changes include a new hybrid chassis that replaced the older tubular frame. As a result, the underseat storage has now been reduced by 2 litres to just 34 litres.
For the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2, the company has heavily resorted to simplification of components. Starting with a more simplified electric motor with an integrated Motor Control Unit (MCU). Moreover, the ECU components have also been reduced to improve the overall efficiency.

Powertrain: The new electric motor in the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 puts out 11kW of peak power. In comparison, the Ola S1 Pro Gen 1 puts out a peak power of 8.5kW. Also, the battery in the Gen 2 has been redesigned but the capacity remains an identical 4kW.
Performance & Range: Thanks to the above changes, the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 can accelerate to 40km/h in just 2.6 seconds and attain a top speed of 120km/h. Moreover, the certified range also improved by 14km at 191km.

Thoughts: Though the new Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 electric scooter may look similar to the Ola S1 Pro Gen 1, the company has made significant changes to the newer model. Though most of these changes lie under the skin, the difference it creates is expected to be felt considerably.
