Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 Launched In India At Rs 1,47,499 – New Frame, Electric Motor & More
Ola Electric launched the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 electric scooter in India at Rs 1,47,499 (ex-showroom). However, this latest iteration of the Ola S1 Pro electric scooter will be sold alongside the outgoing version of the Ola S1 Pro electric scooter.
In terms of design, the new Ola S1 Pro electric scooter looks quite identical to the older Ola S1 Pro electric scooter. However, a closer look reveals that the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 sports a more practical flat footboard and tubular rear grab handle.
These changes have been made possible due to a new hybrid chassis that replaced the older tubular frame. However, the underseat storage has now been reduced by 2 litres to just 34 litres.
As part of the improvements in the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2, the company has heavily resorted to simplification of components. This includes a more simplified electric motor with an integrated Motor Control Unit (MCU).
Ola Electric has also worked to reduce the number of components, and the ECU components have also been reduced. As a result, the wiring diameter has also been reduced by 40 per cent. All of these internal changes contribute to reduced energy consumption and improved performance.
Speaking about performance, the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 electric scooter now sports a new electric motor with 11kW perk power. As a result, the model can accelerate to 40km/h in just 2.6 seconds and has a top speed of 120km/h.
Furthermore, the certified range of the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 electric scooter is rated as 195 kilometres. Also, using a home charger, the scooter can be charged to 100 per cent capacity in just 6.5 hours.
That being said, the resolution of the screen is now reduced to just 800x480, which apparently lesser than the outgoing model. It is also worth mentioning that the Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 now comes with conventional telescopic front suspension as the Ola S1 Air electric scooter.
Thoughts: Though the new Ola S1 Pro Gen 2 electric scooter may look similar to the older generation Ola S1 Pro electric scooter, the company has made significant changes to the model. As a result, the model turns out to be significantly improved.
