Ola S1 Air Deliveries Commence – An Electric Scooter That Is Definitely Worth Considering
Ola Electric has commenced the deliveries of the Ola S1 Air electric scooter in India. This new model has already bagged more than 50,000 bookings according to the company - Making it immensely successful.
Speaking about the Ola S1 Air, the model is positioned between the Ola S1 Pro and Ola S1 X range of electric scooters. Also, the model is currently priced at Rs 1,19,999 (ex-showroom).
In terms of the design, the Ola S1 Air looks very similar to the Ola S1 Pro electric scooter. However, a closer look starts revealing plenty of differences. For starters, the Ola S1 Air sports a dual-tone shade, where the lower porting is finished in dark plastic trim.
Other noticeable design changes include steel wheels, conventional telescopic front suspension, a much simpler tubular rear grab handle and a more practical flat footboard.
Under the skin, engineers at Ola Electric have introduced more changes compared to the Ola S1 Pro electric scooter. These changes include a new hybrid chassis and a new powertrain unit.
Coming to the powertrain, the Ola S1 Air features an 8.04bhp hub-mounted electric motor and a 3kWh battery pack. Thanks to this powertrain setup, the claimed range of the Ola S1 Air stands at 151 kilometres.
In terms of performance, the Ola S1 Air has a top speed of 90km/h and the model can accelerate to 40km/h from a standstill in just 3.3 seconds.
Features-wise, the Ola S1 Air is very well equipped with features such as a large 7.0-inch touchscreen interface unit. Other noticeable features include LED lighting, Bluetooth connectivity, reverse mode, ride modes, cruise control, navigation, and more.
Thoughts: The Ola S1 Air is a decent electric scooter for those considering buying an electric scooter for general day-to-day use. Also, despite cutting down the FAME-II subsidies, the Ola S1 Air feels well worth the money you are spending.
